AUTHENTICATE this COACH

Interesting thoughts, BB. The Goodwill stores in my area state on their receipts "ALL ITEMS SOLD AS-IS, ALL SALES FINAL! Recently one of the clerks questioned the authenticity of a (real) Coach bag because the hardware wasn't stamped "Coach"...and they all seem to believe that if a bag has a creed patch, of course it's real I certainly don't want to give them too much info, but I do point out fakes, which largely falls on deaf ears. You should see the white, plastic Hermes fakeroo POS currently on display...for only $24.99!

Ha ha!! I'm the same way. I tell them about fakes, the law, terrorism, child labor, blah, blah, blah but they don't care. But I've also found some real treasures as a result of their lack of knowledge. (My most recent "steal" was a genuine Hermes $300-400 scarf that I got for $2.99 so I don't want to be too "successful" in my teachings, either!)

If it's a different seller, then why are the photos the same?

This is just one of the reasons why we ask everyone to use the standard format when asking about authenticity. If someone's stealing someone else's photos, there's NO way to authenticate their item.

Please provide a link and the name of the seller of that listing, and be sure to use the requested format in the future. Until you clarify the details of the second set of photos I have to assume that if the second set of photos are from a different seller, that seller is stealing photos and thatlisting can't be authenticated.

What makes you think it is from 1998? By 1998, creeds had date codes as part of the number.

Wow you are right I'm sorry to have wasted your time. I am watching over 30 Coach purses on Ebay and got a mental mess. I copied the pictures because I had already purchased the bag and sent the pictures to several friends. Will never happen again.

Please post a link to the listing. Most sellers are never accurate in figuring out when a bag was made or when they think they bought it.

There MAY have been a Flatiron Tote style 4172 but I don't have any catalog photos of it, just these, and can't verify if this one is authentic. The date code seems early and there aren't any "Flatiron" details. Also, the creed patch edges and stitching really are rough. The striped Sonoma-type lining IS right for the style and it DOES have a Coach "Donated" stamp, so maybe a Pilot, or maybe Coach decided to delay the style for 2 years.

Wow that was quick, I heard about them and didn't know where to look so I put coach flat iron in an eBay search and got, well, flat irons, hundreds of 'em but I'm not interested in lugging a rusty piece of pig iron around with me.

You need to narrow down your searches. Use the dropdown box to select Clothing Shoes & Accessories and serach for Coach flatiron. If nothing comes up in Current listings, try Completeds

It's authentic. It isn't part of the Gramercy collection, both items are Madison. The bag is called a Gracie as the seller states.

OOPS! I just realized that I typed in the incorrect style number!!
I thought maybe I saw it wrong so I just checked and it is clearly marked 9951 sorry!
