Hi! This bag looks off to me - the shape(but it could be the way it is stuffed) and the zipper pull but I could be wrong....the creed pic is not the best - can't see it is says made in U.S. Does it seem to be an authentic daypack? As always, thank you ladies!!!

Definitely fake. You can see the number is way too short and the zipper pull isn't the kind Coach uses.

And the creed says "made in Korea."

Could others report please? I reported yesterday and it is still up! :(

There's always a problem trying to figure out if some of the mistakes we see are because the bag is fake or because Coach changed some specs and production methods along the way. And when there aren't any really obvious problems among a couple of bags with slightly different details, how do you say which is real and which isn't?

Straps for instance. We know Coach changed the strap lengths on some bags during production, like the Court Bag. And I own an NYC Rambler Bag that the catalogs list as having a 43-inch strap but the strap on mine is 48 inches so it may be a very early one and the strap was shorter on later versions.

The G code is a valid plant. The bags it's been used in have different prefixes where most fakes tend to use the same prefix over and over. The serial stamp was apparently changed some time in 1998 since the spacing of the digits changed. The only serial that I'm worried about in the ones you mentioned is the sold one with "BIN-" since I've seen that in some questionable bags. Remember, back then creed stamps and serial number stamps were separate units - the creed stamp in the first bag looks the same as several photos I have of other bags with G plant codes, only the number stamp is different and those were probably changed as needed during a bag's production run, or larger plants may have had more than one serial number stamp. The picture below is what seems to be a genuine creed.

So even though there are some concerns about the bags you mentioned, none of them are strong enough to prove they're fake. They might be enough to call them Questionable but that's all I'm comfortable with.

This is great Hyacinth - thank you for the time you took to respond and for the additional information. It is very helpful for me when you walk though the analysis.

Cheers! :drinks:

And of course the bags in post 794 with those wonky 2002 G plant codes confuse things even more. :graucho:

Hi-
Could someone pls let me know if these shoes are authentic. Thx so very much.

Ebay Item: Coach Bellamy Cyclamen sz 7.5 shoes

Seller: megan634634

Comments: Please authenticate these Coach shoes. Seller has pair in Blue too. These dont look authentic to me, can someone pls let me know. THX so much!!

PS-A general question about production. I read that Coach never produced in Korea, so if that is true, there are numerous hats on Ebay that are made in Korea. Are those all counterfeit?
Thx for all your help :))

"Coach 2G" and searching Title & Description for Active listings and just those terms without the "title & description" for Completeds. Clothing & Accessories category
Thanks. I thought it had something to do with using "+" and "-" and I wasn't sure what the trick was.

Regarding the sneakers, I don't see any red flags but a picture of the stamped size/style information from the underside of the tongue would confirm.

Coach doesn't make any bags in Korea but some clothing and other wearables (scarves, etc.) items have been made there. Many of the fake Coach hats I've seen have bogus tags indicating that they're made in the US.

If you have questions about a particular listing, feel free to post it here.

I think Ebay uses different search tools than other sites. And now that they've screwed up their Search even more by limiting search parameters to only 100 characters and eliminating the wild card asterisk it's even harder to use. I've had to re-do a bunch of Searches. And now it seems like new ones are coming up with Completed auctions as the default setting instead of Active listings. Just when I thought they couldn't possibly mess things up any more, they prove me wrong. Guess they don't want me to buy anything. :graucho:

If you need to look for more than one term, like a 9927 Willis, with Ebay you use parentheses and commas - coach (9927,willis) with no spaces between the words in the parentheses. Then you can use a minus for the terms you don't want searched but with a space and then the minus sign -
coach (9927,willis) -Signature

Thanks. I didn't understand the parentheses and commas but I knew about the minus sign.
