Hello Expert, can you please authenticate this purse.

Item: Coach Leatherware Handbag

Link: https://poshmark.com/listing/528974ee82fe065ace076c0f

Thank you very much.

I have the same bag, made just a month after this bag in the same factory. The zipper on mine doesn't say YKK. Normally, we don't use zipper brands to authenticate since Coach has used many brands of zippers, but I find it curious that two bags made a month apart in the same factory wouldn't have the same brand of zipper. Everything else I can see in these photos and the photos in the original listing leads me to believe this bag is authentic.

While I don't see anything that screams fake, I don't feel comfortable authenticating the bag without a picture of the full front of the bag and another that shows the open inside of the bag from a slight distance. (I like to confirm in my own mind that the seller is showing her own pictures of the actual items.)

ETA: Is this the listing for the rest of the bag?

It looks okay.

Thanks, whateve...I figured from the copyright symbol and glued-in registration number, it would have been mid 70's or so. Gotta get out the needle and thread :)

Goodwill employees in our area are not allowed to shop at their own stores! I'm on the Gulf Coast of Florida with 3 stores close by: Nokomis, Venice and North Port. North Port also has a Bargain Barn where purses are $1.50 and clothes $1.69/lb. Venice has a pretty well-heeled, retirement-aged population which I think results in so many older (and often well-cared-for) bags being donated. And we have a standing $5 off $25 or more coupon that we can flash on our smart phones at checkout. How cool is that!?
You're welcome! The glued-in registration number and the copyright symbol was probably used up to 1982 or maybe even later.

I've never found anything great at a Goodwill at a good price. I consider my nubuc Sonoma to be a great bag but it wasn't a steal at $36 after discounts. The only other thing I've gotten at a Goodwill was a station bag marked $20, but I talked the manager to selling it to me for $3 because the turnlock was broken and one side of the handle was hanging by a thread. Hopefully, Coach will send me a new turnlock and I can force a needle through the original holes to repair it.

There are signs at the Goodwills I've been to that say their employees aren't allowed to shop their merchandise, but nearly every Goodwill I've seen sell the better stuff online. Usually when we go on a thrifting trip, we don't even bother with the Goodwills.

Thanks for the additional info about the glued-in reg number and dates! This one was more than I usually spend ($24.99), but in great condition for her age I couldn't resist. I'm a sucker for Leatherware :)
