Interesting. While the original post and nasty followup from bulldoggermom was removed, I just want to comment on what she said.

Evidently, she called Coach and read them the serial number. What she might have been told was that the serial number is valid for a particular style of bag but without seeing pictures, there would have been no way for experts to authenticate, much less Coach employees who aren't trained to do much more than answer phones.

If bulldoggermom would like to read some of the posts on the answers to authenticity questions thread, she'll realize that a legitimate serial number doesn't mean that the bag it's on is genuine.

She obviously wouldn't recognise factual information if someone branded it on her eyeballs. And she's apparently ALWAYS right. (Wonder if she's related to the owners of Amy's Baking Company?)

Just goes to prove the old saying: "Better to say nothing and just be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt".

Comment: I felt comfortable enough to buy these, but please let me know if you see any problems. I can take more pictures if needed. Thanks for your time!

They both seem to be genuine.

Thanks so much for the quick response. I've been lurking around here, trying to learn enough to be an informed buyer, and I did style number/image searches and creed comparisons before buying. But I'm pretty inexperienced, and your post a day or two ago, about self-authenticators ending up with a closetful of fakes, made me think I'd better post these here. :D

And what REALLY amazes me is that when I search in Completed Listings for Coach 9135, there are EIGHTY-ONE listings that all look just like the photo I posted from Coach's website - and one fake that's a totally different style. And guess who listed it?

Seller User Id: **bulldogmomma**
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Red-L...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

http://www.ebay.com/sch/Clothing-Sh...ct=&LH_SALE_CURRENCY=0&_sop=1&_dmd=1&_ipg=100

Sellers might want to update their Lists. Buyers should keep that name, the four assterisks, and the seller's Georgia location in mind.

(ETA to correct 82 to 81)

Note that there is a bulldogmomma located in Washington state. That is NOT the bulldoggermomma (who posted here) or the **bulldogmomma** (recently changed from her previous ID keriritcheyreynolds) on ebay. This particular seller is located in GA.

Yep, the charmer with the fake has the double pair of assterisks. I hope that doesn't mess up the other seller. Modifying the original post.

It looks genuine, style number 9919 and made in 1993

Sounds good. It looks like it could be a Pocket Purse, style 9755.
