The negative feedback for an alleged fake is deserved. msrainbowbeauty's previous listing is absolutely fake.

Please wait for other opinions on the bag you've asked about but I don't believe that bag is authentic even without a picture of the creed. The style doesn't appear to be a Coach style, the "Coach" imprint isn't on a bag of this style, the elephant-stretched leather is indicative of fake. (Off the record, I'm guessing that the serial number probably begins with NT-XXXX.)

Well, looks like it just ended (sold, not to me). The style just looked, well, interesting, and the turnlock caught me off-guard.

The "Coach" that seller sold WAS fake and so is the one you asked about. Fake style, fake Coach stamp on the front, always-fake badly wrinkled "elephant-skin" overprocessed leather. Please report BOTH bags.

DO NOT BUY ANY DESIGNER ITEMS FROM msrainbowbeauty

Could someone please help me, is this COACH authentic? It's a vintage purse, it belonged to my mom.

Sorry, but it's fake. Not only is the style number 9135 wrong (picture of the correct style 9135, Small Hippie Flap, is below) but the plant code S would not have been used for purses in the year code shown, 1996. Not only that, but style number 9135 and the bag shown in the picture I posted wasn't even introduced until late 1999, three years AFTER the year code shown in the fake. The style it's trying to copy also wasn't made until 1999.

I don't know where your mom bought it (probably Ebay or a yard or estate sale) but she was cheated. That bag should be destroyed or put to some use where it can't get back into circulation again, selling it anywhere in the US is against Federal law.

Welcome to the Purse Forum.

The bag is not vintage...it's just another fake! Sorry.

Interesting. While the original post and nasty followup from bulldoggermom was removed, I just want to comment on what she said.

Evidently, she called Coach and read them the serial number. What she might have been told was that the serial number is valid for a particular style of bag but without seeing pictures, there would have been no way for experts to authenticate, much less Coach employees who aren't trained to do much more than answer phones.

If bulldoggermom would like to read some of the posts on the answers to authenticity questions thread, she'll realize that a legitimate serial number doesn't mean that the bag it's on is genuine.
