Hi coach lovers!! I need help to authenticate my coach purse..this is my 2nd coach bags, bought from my friend, she's a seller in ebay, bought it in 2010..the bag is poppy patchwork and i dont know the name of the bag. I'm new here, since I just started looking at coach purses and handbags to collect. I have read several different guides regarding authenticating coach purses, but I am still not very good at it. Any help in authenticating the following coach purses would be greatly appreciated:

Item: Coach purse (Style # A0768-10823)

Please DON'T depend on online "authenticity Guides"! There's absolutely NOTHING you can ever see on or in a Coach that proves it's authentic - nothing. There can be plenty of things that prove it's fake but there are almost no rule that covers every situation, style, year or period. Almost all so-called guides have serious mistakes or are badly out of date. And Coach themselves make it a point of ignoring or breaking almost any "rule" that's ever been posted about them.

Even what you call "symmetry" has a ton of exceptions, and well-made fakes can be as symmetrical - sometimes even more! - than genuine bags in the same style. Ask here before you bid - that's the only way to be sure. Self-authenticating, unless you've done years of research to raise yourself to Expert status (and that does NOT include reading a bunch of Copy-and-Pasted "guides) is a sure way to end up with fakes. The set of Coach Guides posted by seller "Salearea" and written by me has a lot to say about those bogus guides and why they can't be depended on:

It's possible, but without more evidence there's no way I'd report it.

With some plant codes, especially ones usually found in bags made outside the US, there's always a slim chance that the code may have been used for a short time by another plant before or after being used in the "primary" plant. "M" is a good example, but there's no solid evidence one way or another about the Z code.

The one thing that would definitely put me off bidding on that bag is the strap, and again it's not absolute proof because straps can be changed. But the strap on that bag only has three buckle holes on each end, and it should have four.
