I found a similar bag in a completed auction on ebay and it has a random serial number - but the font looks typical, see link below.

Please give an opinion about the authenticity of the bag pictured here, thank you.

Thanks for the link you posted. The link actually helps verify the bag in the photos along with the unusual font on the serial number, and it's the first time I've actually seen that plant code and serial font in a bag that looks completely genuine..

It's called a Candidate Brief and has many of the details of the Madison line although the catalogs don't specifically say so. Everything about both bags looks genuine.

Both appear authentic, but the first one was made in China in 2003 so the seller is wrong about it being vintage and about being made in the US.
