It's fake. It's not a color combination that Coach uses. (There are other problems too.)

Is this bag listed somewhere?
This looks like the same bag.

The same seller sold it twice before, but for some reason they don't come up when I look at the seller's completed listings.

Here they are: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_sac...&_nkw=coach+12948&_dcat=63852&Color=Red&rt=nc

Thanks, Whateve.

Do not buy from this seller! Please report this lisitng.

Posters, please refer to post #1 of the thread for the required posting format. We need to get the listings and seller ID posted so they'll come up in searches.

I don't think the bag posted by neonfiller is the same one. The color of the HAC plaque is different but the bag isn't made with the disgusting green lining.

This is listed on a local garage sale site. I had my suspicions and was going to meet her tomorrow to look at it but it looked like a fake to me. thanks, I will alert her to it's lack of authenticity.

THANK YOU!!!! I really appreciate this forum.

Two Soho Totes. I have about 6 of these and every single one are completely different, fonts, zippers, buckles, etc. Same basic measurements. These 2 I'm most unsure about. TIA

If the two photos from the top (into the open bag) are two different bags, I have concerns about both based on the zipper pulls. The one with the PIT- creed is obviously fake, as Whateve has pointed out. If J6R- belongs to the other, I have my doubts.

The J6R- prefix worries me. J7R- has shown up so far only in questionable bags, and I'm not comfortable with an R code from 1996, it just seems too early for that code.

I believe the first one is a Beekman. I'm not sure what you are referring to when you say it is smaller. The second one is nearly vintage, made in 1994, so in one more year it will qualify as vintage. It is called an Essex. I believe it can be fixed up. I don't know how good of a job the shops in your area will do, but if it were mine, I know I could fix it up easily myself. The holes in the piping can be repaired with acrylic, the black color could be refreshed, and leather conditioner would make it look almost new again.

Thank you so much Whateve for checking into these for me. :smile1:
I say that the 1st one is smaller because the description section lists the bag as
17in. Wide X 10 3/4in. Height X 4in. Deep and as far as I have seen Beekman briefcases are 16 1/2 in. W x 12 1/4in. H x 4 3/4inD. I know these dimensions are very similar but if they are accurate I would prefer the 10 3/4in to the 12 1/4in. some of the pictures I have seen of Beekmans look almost square and that, to me, looks a bit feminine, where as the smaller height measurements make the bag more rectangular which I actually like better.
When you are referring to the second one would you do the acrylic work yourself? I have never done something like that before, are there tutorials or anything like that where I could learn that, while I am pretty good at DIY I am not that great at crafts.
Just curious, do you know of any business on the internet that I could send the bag, to have it fixed up? I saw a company called Avelle when I did a google search but have no idea about their reputation or anything...

In addition to the above, I had a question about the serial number in the first Willis/Beekman bag...the last number of the serial number, the number 9, is off center, is that ok?

Also, I would have to guess that the serial number dates to before they used the month/year/factory-style, code is that consistent with what you see as well, I know Beekmans are 5266 and this one says 0139, should I be worried about that?

Sorry for so many questions I just want to be thorough. Thank you so much

May be lopsided? VERY lopsided! There's also an authenticity disclaimer.

Demand a refund from Etsy seller ResurrectedCouture.

ETA: I'm not an LV expert and I only recognize the worst fakes. She has a fake LV that's selling for $850.

And another Coach with an authenticity disclaimer:

I don't know whether 233-5678 is on Hyacinth's fake serial number list (because I'm too lazy to look) but it appears to be a serial number that's been on fakes before.

Notice "scrtches" is misspelled.
Here's a cached listing: http://webcache.googleusercontent.c...41+&cd=3&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a

And another:

It is. .. there was just too much wrong to list it all lol. Honestly though. .. to a person that doesn't see and feel bags on a daily basis. ..this one would pass. Glad it's off the market now.

The PIT bag is obviously wrong. This one still throws me a little though having it in my hands and comparing it to my others. It just feels right if that makes sense.

I wouldn't rely too much on the listed measurements of the first one. It is dependent on how the seller measured it.

This bag was made before 1994, so the serial number doesn't include the style number. The serial number is unique so the stamp was advanced to the next number after each use. There is no problem with the numbers not being entirely lined up. It looks like the last digit wasn't advanced all of the way into position before it was stamped. You can see the bottom of the "8" above it.

For the second one, I don't think it would be that hard to fix it up. You can get help in the rehab thread: http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-clubhouse/coach-rehab-and-rescue-club-624452-670.html Several of us have fixed up bags in similar condition. I don't know anything about companies that do this. I think this is something you could do easily yourself. Washing the bag would plump up the leather and allow you to reshape it. The scuffing on the leather would be greatly improved just by using leather conditioner. The only slightly tricky part would be to fix the worn through spots on the piping. Several of us have been able to repair spots like this by filling in the area with artist's acrylic paint. There are also leather fillers you could use. If you aren't happy with the condition of the leather, you can refinish it with this product: http://www.wood-n-stuff.com/leatheraid.html
