It looks like a Medium Slim Leather Duffle.

So glad to hear it's not a fake. Also was curious is it common for the creed to be so lightly stamped that it's a bit hard to read. Thanks for sharing your expertise, you are greatly appreciated.

Sometimes the light stamping happened. The only time you should be concerned is if the creed is a combination of both light and heavy stamping all mixed together.

Here's a fake Duffle Sac where you can see the differences in how the letters are stamped, and a fake Station Bag where it's really easy to see:

Hi all I have two bags from a thrift shop.can you take a look at these? Thanks for all of your expertise!
The first one feels authentic, buttery heAvy thick leather. Straight stitching. But the metal on strap doesn't match buckles . I assume coach never mixed metals. Perhaps just the strap was swapped? Also inside there are two pouch pockets. No zip pocket. Finally,it's got the j8y that you say is often a good fake. It measures 12 x8 with14 strap drop. Front and back are same

I believe the first one with the J8Y prefix is fake. The zipper pull is the wrong shape, the buckles are not solid brass and shouldn't say so, the straps shouldn't have silver grommets, there should only be three holes on each strap. The straps could have been replaced but the solid brass stamping on the buckles convinces me it is fake.
