Probably got it from here.. You gals can't imagine the amount of fake purses here. It's frustrating for someone who saves and longs for an authentic and gets scammed with a fake! A lot of the suppliers who supply the fakes here get it from China or locally made. What makes it worse is that on ebay Philippines, a lot of sellers, sell these fakes as authentic with the actual price of an original. Only someone with a keen eye will be able to spot it. I wish we had the same policy as your country where in counterfeit items are illegal because that's not the case here. It's crazy! And another worse thing, we have no Coach stores here yet! We have everything else but no COACH. ARGH!!!
PS: I'd like to thank you and Hyacinth for providing me with such wisdom on spotting fakes. I really appreciate the information you gals give on this site. I have the utmost respect for the ladies that help each other out in this forum. As we say thank you in the Philippines, Salamat!
We knew that there are a huge number of fakes coming from the Philippines but I wasn't aware that selling fakes wasn't illegal there. That's hard to believe but it explains a lot. And being so close to China it's a natural place for the Chinese fakes makers to expand to.
That's really a shame. I'm sure having a Coach plant manufacturing there is good for the local economy but it's a really foolish decision by Coach considering the huge potential for their bags being faked locally. And it explains why so many Philippinos who can afford to travel do their shopping in Japan and Hawaii and the continental US.
Things won't change until the government learns that refusing to respect the laws protecting the copyrights and trademarks of other countries is a mistake, and laws need to be written and enforced if they want their economy to continue growing. And Ebay Ph. Needs to get much more serious about removing fakes and fakes sellers permanently.
