Suffice it to say that you aren't choosing dependable resources to garner knowledge.
Understand the anyone can post on the internet. Anyone can write an "authenticity guide" claiming themselves as an expert whether they have real knowledge or not. There's no vetting of the accuracy of guides nor is the knowledge of those who reply to questions on Wiki answers, ehow, yahoo answers, etc. verified to make sure that accurate information is given.
That's why 99% of the authenticity guides (all brands) permeating the internet are either incomplete, obsolete or just plan wrong.
If you own this bag, I recommend you return it to wherever you purchased it for a refund because they broke the law in selling a fake. If you can't return it, do not sell it anywhere; that too is illegal. And please don't donate it as that just perpetuates the cycle.
My suggestions are to either destroy the bag and discard it or use it for storage in your basement or shed.
We offer our knowledge and experience here and we do it as a free volunteer service to help buyers and sellers in order to avoid the purchase and sale of fakes.
I am speaking for myself when I say this. I enjoy helping and offering my knowledge where I can but it's very frustrating when someone comes here with a very obvious fake and argues with us.
You may choose to believe those internet Q & A posts where you may or may not get accurate information or you may post questions on the purse forum where there's a wealth of knowledge and real experience with the various brands.

Where are you doing your research? Please post links to what you've found.
There is absolutely nothing right about that bag and your sources are incorrect.
Ok wiki answers and a general google search says the number is real but I'd rather believe people like you guys who have seen photos of the bag I guess
