I purchased this Coach purse at a Thrift store and I am trying to determine if it is authentic or not.

Item Name : Mia Maggie Op Art
Link: Not Applicable
Style No H1077-15757 (Sorry the photo is not the best)

I have read everything online. The seams are straight, material is a good quality. The Leather Creed label is stamped and spelled correctly. My concerns are that the rings on the handle are not fixed, they are movable. And the smaller metal links on the straps are not continuous, they have a seam on them (seen in 2nd picture). I read information online regarding a water test to determine if the bag is authentic and the water did not bead up. I just wanted to confirm if this is a legitimate way to determine the bags authenticity.

Thanks for your help.

Many of the metal rings on most of the bags I've bought directly from Coach in the last few years all have rings where the ends haven't been covered up or soldered. That doesn't prove or disprove authenticity. Please read my Sig under every one of my posts if you want to know the truth about so-called "authenticity guides." Most creeds in fake bags have correct spelling and grammar, and better quality fakes will have straight seams and correctly aligned patterns. None of those details prove anything.

I could use help with authentication of these bags that I'm considering:

Thanks so much!

My eyes just aren't up to the challenge. I'm having trouble reading the creeds. On the first one, I can't read the first digit. It looks like a D but seems too small compared to the rest of the digits. The plant code, year and style number all seem fine but I can't tell for sure because of the first digit.

The second bag is probably fine, but I can't tell what the third digit is. It looks like a C or a G, both of which would be okay.

The third one is fine.

I have my doubts about the authenticity of the fourth one because I don't think they used nickel hardware on Willis bags in 1996.

1- I think the first one's ok. The stamp for that plant seems like it always had at least one set of digits that were a different size than the rest. I think their stamp was a constant work in progress, or it's possible that the plant used several different stamps. Unless there are other problems with the bag itself it's probably safest to give all the variations in the serial digits the benefit of the doubt.

and
4- I agree, the detail of the "puff" in the leather part of the turnlock doesn't look quite right either. I'd consider it questionable at least.

Thank you.

I'm sorry but it's fake.

If you need advice in opening a case, we can advise.

Thank you for reposting the listing and seller information. It's a real timesaver not having to go back and look for the original post.

With wallets (both men's and women's) we advise buyers to use caution. Wallets are "well-faked" and often look very close to the genuine versions.

The embossed imprint stamp on the front of the wallet is slightly "off", the stitching isn't as neat as it should be, and it's missing an interior heatstamp logo imprint. Without having it in hand, it's hard for me to prove but my guess is that the "leather" isn't buffalo leather and probably isn't even real leather at all.

But the props are all wrong. The tissue and box aren't like authentic items. The font on the tissue is wrong and the box isn't a type that Coach has ever used. All the paperwork, brochures and tags are fake. The tag on the lower right in pics #2 and #3 is a type of tag that Coach never used and the Coach price tag shown in picture #3 shows a style number of 6A06. That style is a women's slim envelope wallet that looks like this:

Item: Suede Pocket Satchel 3681 (China 2004, Brass/Biscotti/White)
Seller: Savers $18

Comments: I did some online searching and found pics other pocket satchels but I couldn't find a pic of the brass/biscotti suede/white-trim version. Apparently the brass/biscotti suede/brown-trim pocket satchel 3681 sold for $498 in Feb 2005, but the white-trim version was back-ordered at that time.

I'm pretty sure that this is genuine but I'd appreciate your opinions, both about the bag and the accuracy of my research. Thanks!

Item: White Bleecker Bucket 9305 (USA 1999, MFSRP = $258)
Seller: Savers $8.50

Comments: I found other colors of the 9305 Bleecker Bucket in the Wayback Machine (June 2000) for $248, but I didn't find this white version for $258. I can't imagine it is fake, especially with the original price tag - but then I remembered a comment from Hyacinth that "anything can be faked!" and so I would greatly appreciate your opinions on authenticity. Thanks!
