Hey, I'm not greedy - any qualified authenticator who knows the answers is always welcome to post. And there are some styles and time periods when it's much better to let someone who's more experienced give their opinion.

1- genuine Scout Bag style 9890 from 1991-92
2- it's hard to see just how off-center the creed actually is from those photos. It's probably genuine but a better and wider-view pic of the creed would help
3- looks like a genuine Soho Rivington Bag. Like Whateve said, always mention if a bag's been re-dyed or has any kind of polish on it.
Thank you Hyacinth for the info.

Thank you to both you and Whateve.

Sweet! Here's the circa '05 red gold laser etched Mont Blanc pen it came with. Yes folks, sometimes it does pay to dig thru that pile of grubby luggage & tote bags at ye olde thrift shoppe! Now to go shower in handcleaner.... :p
Awesome sauce! What a great deal! I've pulled a couple Hartmann pieces out of the pile of grubby luggage and stuff at my local S.A. but never a Coach?
May I ask what you had to pay for briefcase and pen, from one bargain hunter to another?
Wow, WHAT a great score!!

Please accept my apologies again, Whateve, I just realized my mistake. Please pardon my rookie forum mistakes. This is something I will remember and hopefully never repeat. Thank you for your patience.

I'm not Whateve, but don't worry - we haven't made any Rookies walk the plank in at least three months. :graucho:

Hi all!

The one item I have on my Coach wishlist (it's pretty limited - since I'm a guy) is a classic Made in the USA leather briefcase.
I have one that's a Made in China leather/nylon combo.. but I feel it's lacking something that the classic leather ones do.
Anyway.. I found a couple "worn" bags on eBay (condition doesn't matter to me very much as they will be an everyday bag) that I would like authenticated before I bid away.

Here they are...

Item: Vintage Coach Briefcase Leather
Listing number: 271236622978
Seller: anitagoods37
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271236622978?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Comments: Would appreciate a date on this bag if possible.

Item: Coach Vintage Well Worn Leather Briefcase Totebag Shoulderbag Low Start Bid .99
Listing number: 271236653432
Seller: spirit_of_thrift
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271236653432?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Comments: I know these older ones are harder to date, do any of you have an ~ year of production?

Thanks in advance so very much,

Sam

1- genuine Beekman Brief, 1998
2- genuine Metroploitan Brief, style 5180 from 1986-87.

Good luck!

Thank you Whateve (for being you and) for answering. It seems there is a lot to learn about old Coach bags.
You're welcome.

No problem. Welcome to the forum.

Beautiful! So nice to find something other someone's garbage inside a used bag! I've been lucking through the luggage section but no luck yet.

Wow, WHAT a great score!!

It was kind of high (for me ;) ), as it was not a sale day - I was pretty sure the case was real, so didn't want to risk leaving it behind til half-off day (didn't see the pen til I got home & posted my auth request).
Total came to around $14 :)

So true! It's usually toothpicks, rusty bobby pins (who uses those?) & (my personal favorite) melted candy... and maybe some vintage pennies. The thrift goddesses were smiling on me today!

Item: Parker Small Flap 13417 (Snakeskin, Italy 2008)
Seller: Shop Housing Works

Comments: I just bid $148 (and won!) this totally impractical, tiny bag that I don't need and won't have much chance to wear, but I really fell for it! It's just so pretty and unusual!

I haven't paid for it yet but I can't imagine that it is fake because it so intricate and detailed - just take a look at all the different metal beads on that strap! But I can't find out anything about it.

I have searched online and studied all the Parkers that I could find on the Wayback Machine but I can't find this bag. The closest thing I have found is the Parker Small Flap 13462 in Rosegold leather.

The creed says that it is snake (and it appears to be an exotic) but it doesn't look like other Coach snakeskin bags that I have seen. But I found similar pattern bags from different brands online and they were made of Karung snake. I am wondering if it was an Asian Coach exclusive or something like that?

Please give me your opinions on authenticity and let me know if you have any information about this bag. And I would really like to know how much it originally cost when it was released back in 2009. Thanks for your help!

What a great score, I once found a furry penny in a vintage bag!
