Bleeker J8Y-9303

The stitching that anchors the handles (4) is rounded unlike the others I've seen that are squared off. Also, the top leather zipper pull has really sloppy stitching with poor quality.

Thank you. :smile1:

I say Fake, there was another fake Bleecker Satchel posted a while back with the same problems, the shape of the rounded stitching at the base of the straps on the top of the bag is a dead giveaway. The leather zipper pull at the top is a mess too, and the seam and details where the base is sewn to the sides of the bag is wrong. Here's a link to a genuine one:

Also, the leather Bleecker bags weren't even introduced until Fall of 1999, so a bag with a September 1998 date code is already a bit suspicious although just barely possible, and ALL J8*- serial prefixes need to be looked at very carefully. It's a very popular prefix for counterfeiters.

Requesting help authenticating this bag, please:

ITEM: 9" x 5 3/4" x 1 3/4", black bag
LISTING: N/A
COMMENT: Creed serial number is 150-9726; made in NYC. I believe this is an older bag but haven't seen this particular hangtag before.

Thanks!

Genuine, looks like an early to mid-80s Dinky Bag.

Please check my post in the Coach Reference Library showing a few older colors on hangtags and you can see the 1980s "Leatherware" tags.

Thank you Hyacinth! Being new to this forum I can already see the great benefits and learning from others too. I did go back to person who listed tote bag and have asked for clear photos. No more bidding if that can't be provided. Not sure if Coach ever made plastic canvas or vinyl or whatever this material is. It looks very cute but who wants to pay $$ for a non-authentic bag?

Coach made quite a few bags in both PVC and coated canvas (the same type of material used in many Louis Vuittons, BTW) that were mostly sold at the outlets. This might be one of them but I can't find any other pics of that style to confirm it.

I bought this bag on ebay a few years ago after my research indicated that the lack of creed and serial number only confirmed it was a 1960s Bonnie Cashin era bag. Was I right? I measure the dimensions at 10" wide, 11" deep (to bottom of buckle), 3" thick. Thanks for any help you can provide.

Possibly Cashin-era but more likely from just a few years later. Maybe DemRam can narrow it down a bit further, early Coaches are almost impossible to pin down to an exact year.

Hi, just bought this bag from reseller.

I don't think anyone would even notice the side seams unless they were looking for them. Does the center seam show from the inside?

Yes, just like other bags with center seams. Not a great photo, but it shows both the center and one of the side seams. Hope this helps!

Thank you!! Those were my suspicions so I am learning.

We don't discuss values - a bag is worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. Please check the first post in this thread, it explains the rules of this particular forum.

Your links aren't working either. I had to Copy just the URL for the photo and paste it into the address bar. It's a good idea to always check your post to make sure the links are working.

You said the pictures were of 2 purses? I'm only seeing one. It's a Chadwick Satchel from around 1993.

EDITED to add - Never mind, I see you changed your post while I was answering.

The tote is a Lafayette Bag from 1995.
Hi Hyacinth! As always you're of a big help to me! Thank you so much! I'm so sorry about the links though. I will post it again even though you already authenticated the items:smile1:
