That would only work if the bidder in front of you didn't enter a high proxy bid ahead of time. You can look at the bid history and time of the previous bid to see if it was a high proxy or a snipe. In either case, you have to enter an amount high enough to top someone else's bid.

I know a lot of people depend on sniping services and swear by them but I've never used one. I've been known to set my alarm for some ungodly hour so I can wake up and either snipe manually or go back to bed if the price has gone over my limit. :)

I'm much too lazy to do that! I use ESnipe and set my max bid for the most I'm willing to pay, and then don't worry about it any more until the auction's over. The "thrill of the hunt" may be fine for some people but like I've told my DH, when the "hunt" involves getting up at 3AM he can go and freeze his keister off outside before the bleedin' sun's even up while I stay in my nice warm bed. Some of us are hunters and some of us ain't. :D

Comments: Seller has not provided a photo of the creed and says it is faint/hard to read. (I have this model in another colour from the 90s and the marking is also faint.)
Seller indicated creed# is JIG-9958, but I'm wondering if the "i" is actually the letter one. Does anything look off based on the photos she's provided?

Thank you so much!! I don't mind hunting if I'm looking for a general bag to rehab but if it's a purse I *have* to have (see also: pink poodle keychain) then I want to ensure that I get a better chance of getting it.

The serial number should end in -9085 but even if it did, that doesn't prove anything. If the seller read the last 4 digits of the serial number correctly and it actually ends in -9958, then it's fake. The seller is only showing one-half of the bag and isn't showing the bottom at all. There aren't enough photos to prove anything either way. Even if I could see the entire base of the bag it still wouldn't be enough to prove that it's genuine. I'm also not comfortable with the plant code.

My suggestion would be to keep looking for a Duffle Sac with better photos. There's no way I'd advise bidding on this one.

1- Usually we ALWAYS need to see a clear photo of the creed and serial number. But this Madison line was hardly ever faked and the details I can see look ok. The creed stamp should say that it was made in Italy and it should be a Madison Gracie Bag.

2- seems to be a genuine City Bag from around 1987

3- it's a genuine Chelsea Bag from the early 1990s

I'll keep an eye out for the creed when I receive the Gracie. That Chelsea bag is a beauty, I'm amazed by the amount of coach vintage information you know. You are always such great help. Thank you Hyacinth.

FAKE! Is this good enough for kristinidwell?

Unless Poshmark becomes more diligent in vetting sellers and listings, I recommend avoiding Poshmark.

And for the seller, kristinidwell, if you're reading, the law requires that any seller KNOW her items are authentic before listing them. If authenticity isn't known, it's the seller's responsibility to find out whether the item is legal to sell.

This might actually be style #9953 which is smaller than the duffle sac. In pictures it is hard to tell them apart, so you need to see the creed to know which size it is.
