sorry for the duplicate photo-can't get it to go away
THANK YOU SO MUCH

It seems to be ok.

BTW, since the photos are yours, please check that the Willises all have the matching leather pieces covering the ends of the dowel rods, and that they're not just painted wood.. If you didn't have the bags right there we'd usually need to see a photo of at least one side to check the dowel rods. Thanks!

excuse the ginormous photo...hopefully it isn't as huge once posted.
thank you

Yes, style 9535. Sorry, there are too many ways that colors can look different on a monitor, I don't like to even guess. Check the Reference thread for my posts showing hangtag colors. Grey is a true grey, putty is more taupe-y.

I'm away from home so I don't have access to my files. I think the color is putty. My putty bag is sort of a taupe color - kind of a cross between gray and brown. When I was touching it up, I mixed brown, navy and white to get the correct color. It looks good.

thank you! weirdly, this bag has ZERO tan or brown in it. It is a true GRAY. so that's what seems confusing to me, but it also could be that their colorations vary a bit when they have this much age on them.

thank you, and yes IRL the bag is a real gray color, with no tan or brown tones in there at all

The Court looks fine.

THANKS again! And yes, I'll check those dowels. There's probably no way to replace those when they are gone, unless I have a "junk" bag to pull from.

I think the colorations did vary a lot. I have one that is a different color on the edges than on the body of the bag. It looks almost two tone. The main color is mostly gray, while the edges have some brown in them. It could either be the way different skins took the dye or that the natural brown of the leather is showing through.

If it is painted wood, that might mean it isn't authentic. I don't think Coach painted the wood before they put the leather on the edges, although I don't know for sure since I've never taken it apart. I also don't think the leather would fall off.

that makes sense. the edges have a bit of a color change like from age, dirt/oils exposure. but the interior especially is a pretty gray totally.

well, crap. stymied. The leather tips aren't there. ugg. how is it that the bag can be ok in all details, C plant creed look totally fine (I have lots of C plant bags from this time frame that seem to match this) and possibly be fake because of the dowels being non leather tipped (rhetorical question I suppose) I have had another bag that I think were thought to be authentic lose the leather but it's been too long ago, and I no longer have that particular bag.

It doesn't always mean the bag is fake so don't worry too much. They could have come off or been removed. But you may want to compare it detail for detail with your other Willises from that time period and see if there are any other problems.

When you really REALLY want a bag, it pays to be using a good sniping service. If you were outbid at between 5 and 6 seconds that's probably what the winning bidder did.

I've seen a number of them out there - are there a couple that you would recommend?
That would only work if the bidder in front of you didn't enter a high proxy bid ahead of time. You can look at the bid history and time of the previous bid to see if it was a high proxy or a snipe. In either case, you have to enter an amount high enough to top someone else's bid.

I know a lot of people depend on sniping services and swear by them but I've never used one. I've been known to set my alarm for some ungodly hour so I can wake up and either snipe manually or go back to bed if the price has gone over my limit. :)
