Is it fake? Take a look at the stitching in pic 4, 7-9. The letter s in the word "states" appears higher then the other letters. Also the coach tag split? Is that possible?

Please advise. Thanks so much.

Call me wacky, but I can see a bullseye, too. The circular outline stands out from the more irregular grain shapes, especially when zoomed out & looking at the overall grain.
Maybe it's time for me to step awayyyyy from staring at Coach creeds :p. !!

Me too but my 4 year old feel asleep in my arms and I'm enjoying holding her too much to go back downstairs to look at it again!

Thanks! Does this help? The leather is really pebbly.

It's also got a little bullseye (factory?)

Is the bullseye in the photo? Everything I'm seeing there looks like the grain of the leather.

I'm seeing it too. I cropped, sharpened and enlarged a portion of the creed and it sure looks like a bullet above the upper right corner:

Hi everyone,

I purchased this fob on eBay, and was wondering what you all think about the authenticity? What caught my attention was that the "Coach" portion is silver (I hope it shows in the photo) while the rest of the heart border is gold. Was this fob made like that? I wasn't too sure about the tag either - the paper feels different to me (I know, that doesn't exactly show in the photo)!

Thank you in advance!

It's authentic. The tag is a store-made replacement tag that they put on at the outlet. The original tag either went missing or the outlet replaced the retail tag with a factory (F-style) tag.

I don't trust that J7R- code, it's been in one other bag that had several other problems. On this one the style number looks like 9965 but isn't the same style as the Legacy Small Flap that number actually belongs to. Even if I'm reading the last digit wrong, there's no other style in the 996x series that matches that style. There are odd stamp impressions around the creed stamp that don't belong there, the R plant code was for Thailand and not the US, and while older Coaches used a 2-piece hangtag that often came apart the inside suede color should be the same as the outside leather color. And the digits in the J7R part of the number just don't feel right to me. The photo of the bag with the flap open also seems to show "stretch marks" below the turnlock that shouldn't be there.

I think the word "states" looks odd just because of the lighting but there are other details about that bag that would make me recommend against buying it.

Several pics but I want to make sure that you can see them clearly. This is a "trail bag" (seller called it this) that I just got. I'm comparing it to my small flap 9965 because that's what I think people call the trail bag? It's the closest thing that I have to compare and I've annotated the pics with differences and concerns. It came with its little pouch of documents but that could be thrown in from another bag I suppose! Thanks for your time!

The name of style 9965 wasn't Trail Bag, it was Legacy Small Flap. The Trail Bag was style 9955. Neither of those bags is a Trail Bag, the black one is probably a 9965 although without a creed photo it's hard to be sure. The red one looks older, probably early to mid-1980s. It looks like a Small Shoulder Bag but without measurements I'm not going to speculate.

The two bags in your photo are obviously not the same style bag so the comparisons really don't prove that one or the other is fake. The different color metal zipper pull may be a replacement. What you call a "puffy" hangtag was exactly how the mid-1980s hangtags looked.

You can't compare two different styles. If you need the red bag authenticated please post measurements, also a longer view of the creed that includes the inside pocket especially the top. Thanks!
