It's a Basic Bag, style 9455
I read your question in the other thread. Normally, these all number creeds had a seven numbers separated by a dash, in the format of xxx-xxxx or xxxx-xxx, but occasionally the stamper screwed up and you ended up with an 8 digit creed.
I bought this bag an estate sale for $8.00 The all numerical numbers on the creed patch threw me off but I'd read a post by Hyancith that some earlier bags had these type creeds. The leather is thick, heavy and chewy and I'm pretty sure it's authentic...at least I hope so.
Measurements are 10 1/2 long, 7" tall, 2" deep and the double strap is 40" long, excluding the brass dog leash clips.
There is an open leather pocket inside. TIA for your help. I already love this bag and look forward to using it.
That's where it gets tricky. I've seen what look like genuine Neos with the "leather" creeds.
Early 90's, before 1994.Thank you so much Hyancith.
Thank you Whateve...
Interesting about the 8 digit creed...by any chance is it possible to put a date on this bag?
I've learned a lot about Coach briefcases during my recent search for one. I was surprised when I first saw those turnlocks too but then I learned that Coach used those on a lot of briefcases. I think some of the current styles have the same turnlock tab shape. Several early briefcases had a three digit style number; the zero was added when it was put on the creed. It is authentic, but I don't know the name.Could someone authenticate this Coach briefcase/laptop bag?
Bought it yesterday at local animal rescue thrift store for cheap.
Approx. 16"w x 12"h x 4.5"d Strap drop 24"
Style #0542 from 1997? Do you know a name for this style?
Comments: I had never seen a creed with this wording, nor the squared-off turnlock...but then again, I haven't seen EVERYTHING yet! Photos are a prime example of color variation based on focus!
As always, Thanks in advance!
