I purchased from a friend's estate sale. I am pretty close to the family so have no doubt the bag was purchased from a reputable dealer. However it does have the J8Y in the creed, so thought I'd ask the experts to take a look.

The dimensions are exactly the same as an authentic Willis Messenger? in Mahogany that I have personally owned for years.

Besides the J8Y- prefix, the creed stamp looks like it's too far down on the pocket.

I'd like to see the other end of the dowel rod. This one looks like it's a bit too short, maybe even too thin.

The padding on the turnlock doesn't look right.

Pictures of all three areas would be a big help.

If the creed says it was made in Mexico, it's probably ok. The quality from that plant sometimes came up a little short.

It looks fine. The color is called "dove" and it certainly is made in that color.

Thanks Whateve & Hyacinth! It was made it Mexico. I took a cell phone pic & sorry for the bad lighting. If you can see on pic...the right side of strap has a crooked leather edging by grommets and the left is a clean line. Nothing major so as long as it seems authentic- the rehabbing will begin! :)
