DON'T depend on or even believe "information" posted on other sites, 95 percent of it is wrong. Read my Signature under every one of my posts.

Whether or not they were sold at an outlet, smaller bags like Swingpacks and Pouches may or may NOT have numbers.

Not all bags sold at the outlet have bulls-eyes, and a bulls-eye doesn't prove an item is genuine.

Thanks for the reply, Hyacinth. It is all a bit confusing, because there are no rules! Very frustrating. Although I only have two older bags right now, they are both small and both have the number, so I was a bit surprised when I came across a bag which didn't have a number. Here is the link:

I'm not interested in buying this bag, but just browsing and the lack of a number seemed strange. Just out of curiosity is this authentic or not?

It's authentic, style 8A13 and is called soho leather swingpack.

Want to be even more confused? It's possible to find more than one of the identical style of bag. If made in different plants/factories/countries, one might have a serial number and the other(s) might not.

Again, with Coach, there are almost no rules because just about every "rule" has exceptions.

ETA: Here's a post showing the style:

Thanks, just trying to get a handle on things. (Although my husband is starting to look at me in a funny way when he sees me on the computer looking at purses.);)

You're welcome.

I venture to say that your husband isn't the only one looking at their wives' computer habits and wondering wth is so interesting about handbags! Hey! Remind him that it could be other "stuff" you're googling!

The quilted hobo is authentic.

The brown and white wannabe Carly is fake.

That quilted hobo was my first ebay Coach purchase! It is so cute! For future reference, assume anything that has that shiny lining with the tiny c's is fake.

Hi, can anyone help me to authenticate the wallets please? Thanks in advance!

Item name: coach wallet
Listing no: 251256071307
Link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/coach-wa...ries&hash=item3a8007648b&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1288

Item name: coach purse
Listing no: 151023406926
Link: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/coach-pu...Accessories&hash=item2329b24f4e#ht_500wt_1288

I'm hoping that they are real, the colors are nice. But I know way too little about wallets to judge. Thanks!
Both appear authentic.
