I'll respond anyway. It's authentic and the tag is correct for the case, style 8017. It's probably from over 10 years ago when we had the big fat Nokia cell phones with an antenna.

ETA: At $8.99, it wasn't a bargain, IMO. No one has those phones any more an if you were selling, it would take a long time.
Actually, this one was so narrow, my daughter's Iphone4S could barely fit in it...which I thought was odd.....thanks, BB!!

I'm not familiar with the G plant but wasn't 1997 pretty late for them to be putting the "Made in the United States" line along the bottom?

It seems like it but maybe they just reused an old stamp because the G plant seems to have been only part-time. I can't say it's wrong without a lot more proof.

Thanks so much, Hyacinth. Its good to get the peace of mind. Here are more pictures of the first one:

I love this little bag. Was it made in the 70s?

It's an Everett Bag style 9934 from 1993 and no, it's not from the 70's. Any creed that says Made in the United States (or any other country) or Made in USA can't be any older than 1988. Never assume that sellers know the actual name, original price or original production date of any Coach item unless they're proven experts.

Unfortunately there's still a seriously inaccurate "guide" posted at Ebay and other places written or copied by seller " mrharley747 " that contains a LOT of very bad information about creeds, creed dating and serial numbers, especially their dates. Most of the dates are at least 10 years off. Please ignore that Guide if you come across it or sellers who are getting their information from it. Among other serious mistakes, the poster claims that creeds that say creeds stamped Made in the United States were from the 1970s when in fact they didn't even start using those until 1988.

Please check the Salearea Guides for correct information on creeds and dates:

Beside the E factory code showing made in the US and the possibly questionable font, is there anything else that would prove this is fake?

Definitely - the Ergo line with the 90xx style numbers wasn't even introduced until the late Summer 1997 catalog. Any Ergo with a February 1995 date code is fake, along with the fake plant code.

about to go to bed and came across this apparent fake on ebay...9950 is Janice Legacy, right?

Thanks!
I'm going to report before I go to bed....I'm usually only confident reporting "Made In Korea" bags without checking with you ladies first....but this one has definitely the wrong style # (and the dreaded J8 that seems to be associated with a lot of fakes). Good night!

Thanks everyone.... I actually bought the duffle online on sale from Coach.... should be here later next week. I am very excited!!

Ugh! hit the back button.

Although sellingbydezine might be buying from Coach's online sale, if she's buying after items are sold, there's also a chance that items will be out of stock, thereby she (as Coach's buyer) and you (as her buyer) would both be disappointed. And the other possibility is that she isn't really buying from Coach but instead, dropshipping from counterfeit sellers.

Hit the "back" button.
