Cheap looking zipper, can't find the identical style anywhere.

Sorry, I can't find it or verify it. There aren't a lot of Swingpack photos from the early 2000s in my files but those rounded leather tabs on the ends of the strap are something I don't remember seeing before, and a smaller accessory bag from that time period being made in the US seems unusual. The strap hardware doesn't seem like Coach quality, and the zipper pull on the outside pocket is strange too and so is the leather pull tab.
Hyacinth, have you ever seen a creed with such a thin border around the cartouche? On any swingpacks I've seen that have creeds but no serial number, the space below the bottom of the cartouche is large enough for a serial number. And the space above "Coach" at the top of the creed looks slightly too large.

Yes you are right Hyacinth. I just cross checked with my other "4c" bags. That's interesting. Thanks for your input! I have added more pictures to the album. The other taupe and authentic station bag is from 95.

A photo of the front of the bag would help, and if you're comparing it to another Station Bag we need to see photos of that creed stamp too. But I already see one potential problem just in the creed stamp of the bag you're asking about.

I don't own a Station Bag any more but let's hope that one of our Regulars who does have one can take a look. However, the difference between the creed in yours and the other open and Completed listings I've found with both L4C- and M4C- production codes (bags from the same month, year and plant and even one from a month later) seem to indicate that your's was not made by Coach. I haven't found ANY L4C- coded bags with the same creed format as yours.

Below is a creed from the same plant from a month later

I thought this as well. Plus the edges of the creed aren't rounded off.

Hi ladies! I'm not familiar with Coach but recently came across this amazing vintage style- it's a bonnie cashin era saddle/hippie/crescent bag (I can't figure out the official name)! Anyways, I'm in love with this style, but unsure of buying such old bags. This one seems a little too good to be true, price-wise. Could you authenticate please? Thank you! :flowers:

There are so many of this style in navy available, but very few in other colors (I want black, brown, or tan.) Why is that?

Also, what should I be wary of in terms of condition? I know to ask for smells/mold/mildew, from reading the vintage thread. Anything else? Thanks again! :D

It looks like an authentic crescent bag. The leather has wrinkled with age, which is more than likely permanent. The edge wear you can treat with conditioner. Definitely ask about smells.

Yep, there are a ton of small mistakes. It can't be real.
