Thanks for your response. I wondered about that too but I read about old old ones having this wording so I wasn't sure. I sent the request to Coach to get a replacement hang tag along with the album. All they said is "Unfortunately, our database does not provide any information for registration number "2008."" They are providing a replacement tag though, so I guess that's a bonus
Just another reason why you should NEVER depend on the CS reps at Coach for information.
The bag looks ok although a better photo of the creed would help. But I wanted to post Coach's own website photo of style 12291 the Ergo Editorial Large Canvas Tote, see below. (It's hard to see in the website pic but the Sig C pattern is woven into the fabric)

Older Coach bags and creeds have never read "This is a Leather Ware bag..." If some so-called Guide actually said that, it's a complete lie. Older creeds used the word "Leatherware" in smaller letters under the name "Coach" in the cartouche at the top of the creed but that's a totally different thing than actually using that wording in the creed itself. And having the same words as a genuine bag do NOT prove a bag is genuine. Fake Coaches often use good quality leather and copy the creeds from genuine bags.
The BIG red flag in this one is the serial number. Everyone shopping the secondary market needs to learn some basic facts about serial numbers so they can avoid at least the most obvious fakes like this one.
Please read and Save the Salearea Guides posted at Ebay for accurate information. Yes, all of them:

And if you decide to keep and use the fake, please don't use the Coach hangtag on it.
This is yet another reason why we don't trust Coach nor recommend buyers call them for information.
Although I'd like to see a full straight on picture of the creed to authenticate the bag in the listing, that is exactly what style 12291 should look like as evidenced by this Nordstrom link:
