There are some very close fakes of that bag and this one is one of them. The plastic is a huge red flag and the tag is for a different color bag. It looks like the seller used a possibly genuine tag (and photoshopped?) the color information from the tag.

I wouldn't touch any listings from seller 1006patton with a 10-foot pole.

I noticed that the color was scratched off the tag.

The bag is authentic and if anyone here is a Coach seller, they need to add cdbenterprise to their BBL.

There's nothing questionable about the bag. It's a Carly pouch. If the buyer isn't familiar enough with Coach to know whether a bag is authentic, that buyer should ask questions here or on the ebay purse board before she damages a seller's feedback and reputation.

Coach sellers: BLOCK cdbenterprise

I'm assuming what she thought was "questionable" is that the creed lacks a serial number. Many of Coach's smaller items, among them swingpacks, pouches, cosmetic cases, wristlets and other items may or may not have creeds. Those with creeds may or may not have serial numbers.

ETA: Sorry! I was so emotional about your friend getting an undeserved neg feedback that I didn't answer the question about relisting.

Since the bag wasn't removed as fake, it can be relisted without issue but if the seller wants to further reassure buyers who might check the feedback, you can certainly refer them (in the listing) to have the bag authenticated here.

Another inexpensive option and money well-spent would be to pay a professional authenticator $7 to authenticate it. (I know authenticate4U does Coach. Caroldiva is familar with older, classic styles but not as good with newer ones.) If it's professionally authenticated, she would give the authentication service the link to the listing and would put a note in the listing that bag was authenticated by xxxxxxx. If the potential bidders ask, the service will verify authenticity.

I know this is old, but I noticed the buyer changed her id to 'repeatpursehaven' you may want to update bbl.

I personally wouldn't buy anything when the photos had such incredibly bad colors. Sometimes we need to see the colors to check the authenticity. The photo quality in general is awful. The serial number is barely readable but it looks like -6818 which means it's fake. The lining is wrong for the outside fabric, the front buckle is fake, and the hangtag is fake.

It's genuine but dating accessories is really tough. Mid to late 1980s, or early 90s maybe?

Thanks so much! I had no intention of purchasing...I don't care for it, even if it's real! I stalk our local classifieds, though...so many fakes and it makes me crazy!

Item:Madison Bristol Dome Satchel 4412 (Italy, 1996)
Seller: Craigslist $30
Dimensions: 13"wide, 10" tall (center), 5.25" deep

Comments: I found this on Craigslist and the pics were tiny and blurry but I found the completed auction at the link below and decided to check it out. I think it is genuine but I would appreciate your opinion.

The auction at the link below says that the bag originally retailed for $388 and that sounds high for 1996, do you know the actual retail price?

Thanks so much for your help!

The Bristol is listed in the Spring 1996 preview book at $388. That's about $580 in 2013 dollars.

Nice find! And it's red! :smile1:

Thank you! She is big and red and gorgeous! She has some condition issues but I hope that she will rehab well.

The craigslist posting was very poor, the pictures were small and fuzzy. I asked the vendor to send a pic of the creed and it was also very out of focus but I could make out a few words like "Italy" and the style number so I decided to check it out. What a beautiful bag, I am so glad I found her. She has some condition issues but she is big and red and gorgeous! Thanks again!

I notified the seller on this one (and reported her) but she very nicely asked why I knew it was fake. I explained, and she changed the listing to just purse...with all the same pictures....which I still have a problem with. I have a hard time believing that if someone inquires she will be honest....and on top of that...I just got onto facebook and it is listed on our local BST as a Coach! GRRRR!!!!!
