Still no refund. She is now saying that she has been advised to not refund the money before I send her the bag. I'm at a loss here honestly.

I think she is within her rights not refunding the money until she gets the bag back. Return it with delivery confirmation and you will have proof to show ebay that you returned it if you have trouble getting your refund. However, she isn't obligated to pay your return shipping. For that, you just have to hope she will be honest.

She refunded it and the shipping. .. What a nightmare. Beginning to think ebay is more Trouble than its worth.
That's good. I'm really surprised too because no seller --- not ebay or b&m stores issue refunds (usually) before the item is returned.

I'm not seeing any photos. Your image link is only showing when the Reply window opens. Reposting below but I don't think it's real, the font isn't right. More opinions are welcome since it can be really hard authenticating JUST a hangtag. They're very easy to fake.

Thank you Hyacinth. It came attached to a black sabrina. I'm fairly certain the Sabrina is authentic. Everything looks right on the Sabrina, but when I saw the tag, I was thinking something about it was off. It feels thin & the edges seem much sharper than the authentic silver tag I have on the large Sabrina

I believe this Sabrina originally came with the nicer silver tag that has the embossed type outline around the Coach name & on the opposite side the small Coach Est. 1941 in small print.

Pics of Sabrina, Creed, and the hangtag in question for reference:

Hello! A few years ago, I purchased a Coach bag from a local salon/day spa. An unfortunate incident on the subway caused the strap to rip off the purse. (The purse got caught at the bottom of a stairway handrail, and I tugged too hard because I thought someone was grabbing it).

While looking into getting it fixed or selling it to someone who could fix it themselves, I realized that the purse might be fake. Other pictures of this purse have a white creed, but mine is brown. The serial number on mine says "NO-10457". The bottom of this purse is leather, but other pictures show a canvas bottom. The tag on mine is metal, but other pictures show a double tag that is colorful and puffy.

Can you advise if this is fake or not? If it is, is there anything I can do about having purchased a fake purse five years ago?

I'm not Hyacinth but the fact that the hangtag came on an often scarily-well-faked style scares me.

I'd like to see the listing and more clear pictures of the bag. I have/had that bag in a different color and in comparison, the studs look more rounded (on yours) than they seem to be on mine and the distance apart appears off. And although both of our bags were made in the same year and same plant, (different months), the font on your creed appears to be slightly thicker. It could be the angle though.

I have concerns about your bag. (My bag came from Macy's.)

I think the side-by-sides are sometimes more helpful than individual pictures in comparing them. If they aren't large enough, I can post larger images.

There's nothing you can do about it except learn from your mistakes, and take your salon business somewhere else if you haven't already. If the salon has the same ownership and is still selling fakes you can try demanding your money back but I doubt if it would do any good.

Salons, purse parties, small accessories shops, or the person selling bags from a street kiosk, the back of a store in Chinatown or Santee Alley, or the trunk of their car etc are NOT legitimate Coach vendors and anything they sell is fake and possibly connected to street gangs. Many "name" handbags and small accessories including keychains that are sold at estate sales, yard & garage sales are also fake, regardless of how rich the seller or previous owner supposedly is or was.

And ALL internet sites using the Coach name or graphics on their site and implying that they're affiliated with Coach are selling fakes except for Coach.com and their retail partners like Macy's, Dillard's Nordstrom and other large local or national retail chains.

Don't make the same mistake again.. Anyone claiming they get a special deal on Coaches is selling fakes.

The bag in the pictures is fake.

Thank you, BeenBurned! I started to suspect as much. Can I ask how you know?

The patterns are incorrect, the fonts and imprints are wrong, the lining is the wrong color and material, the creed has the wrong font, wrong color and wrong information.

Here's an authentic listing for what your bag is trying to look like:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/COACH-10457...084?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item19d90e18a4

As I did above, sometimes side-by-side comparisons are much easier to demonstrate differences. Here are just a few:
