Hi all -

Thank you again for all your help with my fake Legacy Zip. I've become obsessed with Authenticate this and have been reading you guys "back catalog" as it were. I LOVE IT.

OK, with that being said, I've got another interesting bag here.

http://s1273.beta.photobucket.com/user/netlawyer/library/5FM-490_ Pebbled Drawstring

It has the right Costa Rica plant code, but the month and year codes are reversed. I recall seeing Hyacinth's posts about some plants mixing these up - would Costa Rica in 1995 be one of of those?

When I compared to other bags, it looks it seems identical to this #4931:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Almost-Vint...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

which concerned me since when I powdered the creed, it looks like #490(5?) which I then checked and turns out to also be a Sonoma Drawstring but in natural grain rather than nubuc leather. (HT Coach Rehab Project Blog for the style numbers.)

So sorry for the long post, I am getting nutty about these old bags (is it possible to recover?) and I wanted to share my thought process as I thought through why this bag might have the serial number it does and sleuthing out the style number.

as a follow up, the seller apologized, gave me a full refund and asked me to destroy the bag which I will do.

That's great. Are there any part of the bag that can be salvaged? You can save the hardware and the strap. You can use the leather of the bag to make tassels or something else. I haven't gotten rid of my "bean bag" purse. I don't use it but I feel attached to it somehow. I use the strap that came with it for another purse.

Title: AUTHENTIC COACH BONNIE CASHIN CRESCENT BAG #4157 GENTLY PRE-OWNED
Seller: blueberrymutton
Item number: 230938135265
Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/AUTHENTIC-C...265?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35c4fc4ae1

Comments: Seller shows pictures of 2 different creeds with 2 different serial numbers, neither of which matches the style of the bag and neither of which looks like the right color for the bag although I think the 4157 creed is the one on the bag.

Opinions? Is this bag authentic? Was it made in the color shown? TIA.

Whateve - frequently, you seem to say what I've been thinking!!......I just threw it in the trash a few minutes ago, saying aloud that I hate to waste it (waste anything for that matter!) but I, obviously don't want it in circulation....didn't even think recycling it "for parts"...great idea! Thank you!!!

OKay, ladies, I just won a bid that I am really hoping is an authentic Madison Roylaton that looks very much like Katev's Beechnut Royalton on the Rehab forum ( http://forum.purseblog.com/coach/now-cousin-has-come-over-italy-join-family-717893.html#post20462935 )..I know the creed is hard to read but when I googled the serial#, I did see another one....fingers crossed and as always, thank you! It is such a beautiful bag.

I'm bumping this up because I think it got lost in the mountain of photos I posted earlier today :smile1:...bought 2 bags today at a thrift store, Hyacinth graciously authenticated the 1st one but haven't heard yet about this one. Thanks in advance!

The tote is authentic.

The listing for this bag was removed after reporting a few days ago. It is fake.

ETA: Seller describes it as a crescent bag (9718) and shows creeds for a Waverly(4157) and Legacy tote(9063) but the style of the bag mimics a saddle bag(9988). What a confusing listing.
