Hi experts!

need help in authenticating these items:

1.
Item: GFO: Authentic Coach Sateen Brooke Bag-LOW BID!
Listing number: 360603586525
Seller: greatfindsonline_auctions
Link: http://www.ebay.ph/itm/360603586525?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649

2.
Item: GFO: LOW BID! Coach Legacy Leather Candace Carryall (Black)
Listing number: 300865113898
Seller: yayendij
Link: http://www.ebay.ph/itm/LOW-BID-Coac...8?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_211&hash=item460cf54f2a

thanks a bunch!

1. greatfindsonline_auctions - listing shows a fake keychain included

This listing from greatfindsonline_auctions shows a Gucci bag yet the seller doesn't use "Gucci" in the title or item specifics, presumably trying to stay under the radar. The disclaimers and terms in the description also raise my suspicions though I don't know the brand well enough to authenticate it.

2. yayendij - long history of selling fakes -- I do not recommend

Search the Coach sub-forum for seller #2's ID to see all the fakes.

As for the listing from yayendij, this listing is a perfect example of why I am uncomfortable with listings out of the Philippines.

Although the style number appears to be valid, the date code looks good and the creed and stitching seem to be the correct quality, the lining color is wrong!

Compare yayendij's listing to the following one and especially note the lining. This listing has the identical month, year and plant code and the bags should be identical.
This is an authentic listing from another seller: http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-Brand-N...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I don't feel comfortable authenticating listings from ebay.ph (From the Philippines) because we've seen a lot of scary "good" fakes. Some are seemingly "good" regarding patterns, fonts, markings, etc., but many have serial numbers that are invalid for the styles of bags they're on. A lot of the sellers also show pictures that aren't close enough, clear enough or detailed enough to authenticate.

I urge buyers of ebay.ph listings to exercise extreme caution.

Honestly, this listing looks suspicious to me. Simply because of the fact that the seller has a lot of stock photos mixed in with regular photos in a way that makes it hard to tell which photos are stock and which photos are his/her bag. I, personally, would not take a chance on it. Hope this helps!

Welcome to TPF.

There's no way to authenticate any of ciaoitsme123's listings because the seller uses pictures from multiple sources. Some are Coach's own stock pictures stolen from its website. Others are pictures from other sites, blogs and possibly other sellers. Some of the pictures might be the seller's own, but I don't know which. And further, the seller puts HER watermark on other people's images!

Not only is it impossible to authenticate when not seeing the actual item but it's misleading and unethical for the seller to use someone else's work. As a buyer, you have no idea what you'll get because you're not seeing the item.

Regarding the listings in question, here's one example of the source of some pictures:

Thank you!! It seemed something wasn't right about it, but I couldn't put my finger on it. That makes perfect sense. I appreciate your help greatly!

Hello,

I would like to ask for help to authenticate a Coach purse that I bought. Attached are photos and more are available on the auction link.

Item: Coach Legacy Red Leather Large Bucket Tote/Shopper Bag w/Gold Hardware

Listing number: 140910861829

Seller: ifoundtheseforyou

Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/140910861829?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

Comments: I ended up requesting a partial refund from the seller, which was granted, since it smells of cigarette smoke. I would like to have it professionally cleaned and spruced up, but am wondering whether the bag is authentic and worth refurbishing.

Thanks so much.

It's called a Legacy Large Shopper made in 1998, and it's genuine. I can't give opinions on what something is worth, that's up to you and what it would cost to refurbish.

@Hyacinth:

Thanks so much. I think I will refurbish it. I'm old enough to remember fondly what these looked like and cost fresh from a store in 1998! Just wanted to make sure I wasn't spending more money on a fake.

Cheers to you and the entire Bucket--er--Bouquet residence.

Thank you so much for your very detailed answers. sorry for the fakes. All the coach products i've bought have come from ebay.com (US) as it seems like all coach bags i see in the ebay.ph listings are fakes. I was hoping to save on shipping charges etc. that's why i am looking for local listings.
