Thanks Hyacinth! I did end up purchasing the bag, but I will definitely post up pictures if the bag arrives different. In the event that the bag is made in the U.S., does the product still appear to be authentic?

I just want to post a possiblity. If you look at the seller's other Etsy listings, she has at least one other Coach bag that was made in Costa Rica. It's possible that she did a "sell similar" and just forgot to change some of the text in her description. It's an easy error to make.

The first one is genuine - Soho Buckle Bag.

I don't have a good feeling about the second, in fact I'm sure it's fake. The serial number is almost totally unreadable but that style was discontinued before Coach switched to that creed wording, and the serial number almost looks like the style number starts with -52 which also would be wrong for that style. It also looks like the plant code is "N" which would indicate a bag made in Mexico. The turnlock is wrong too, it's mounted the wrong way.

Here's the Shelton Bag style 9917 that it's trying to copy:

Probably genuine but the turnlock tab isn't very well made.

It worries me that you can't see the padding that should be on the top half of the turnlock tab.

Thank you so much. Looks like the second one is headed for the trash. Good thing I paid so little for it :smile1:

Hello, I am new to the forum and Coach bags. Please help me authenticate this bag and, if possible, identify the style name. I was foolish enough to first bid and then think. Actually, I won the auction and now have my doubts especially about the serial number font. Is it authentic? Thank you very much in advance!
