Thanks for your help.,. But I don't think they bought it for a "real price" this was given to me because I like branded things and I guess the person didn't realize u can tell the difference between fake and real... Especially when a person owns and wears branded things... Thanks again for your help though

I'm not going to authenticate it because I can't see enough from the photos, but I wanted to say, I love this purse! If it is authentic, it is style #9385. I have it in gray. I was told it was from around 1986. I don't know if it has a special name; I think I was just told "shoulder purse." Mine has a metal hangtag - I don't know if it is original to the bag. Does yours have a hangtag? I don't know if Hyacinth or Demram will need better photos in order to authenticate.

I agree, the Shoulder Purse is the only one I know of with that small kisslock coin purse inside.

Whateve, the metal hangtag has to be a replacement, Coach didn't start using metal tags AFAIK until the late 90s at the earliest.

My apologies if you've already answered this, we're bouncing around several different threads and I'm losing track of things, but who was the seller? Do you have an auction link?

And I also wonder WHY none of these "samples" is ever shown with any kind of receipt. I'm just assuming that Coach gives receipts even at Sample sales - can anyone who's ever been to one confirm that?

Comments: Check out how the bag has no creed. The seller states that the creed has rubbed off, but it clearly shows that it was never there. Also, the pocket where the creed should be is really rubbery like it is synthetic leather.

The seller also states: "purchased at the Coach outlet in Woodbury ,NY in Harriman. Most of my bags from the 80's,early 90's do not have anything on the pocket and no lining either."

I purchased this bag. The second link are the pictures I took.

It's being shipped back tomorrow, but I don't want it listed again as I know she will.

I agree that it's fake. Creeds were stamped deeply enough so that even scratching with a file or a knife wouldn't just make the whole thing vanish. The magnetic snap isn't right either, it should have a specific manufacturer's name and/or a valid US patent number.

Just a comment here. I have no idea whether it's made by Coach but IMO, it looks like it might be a generic leather bag onto which someone attached a hangtag. The pocket appears to have been scratched to make it appear that it was a creed stamp.
