Comments: another bubble gum pink, with a J8 prefix

Item name: Coach Grey and black logo Silk Scarf

Thanks!

Can't help with the scarf.

The Belt Bag is fake. Not just because of the color OR the often-used-in-fakes J8Y- serial prefix but because both the style and that Snap Lock (Springlock?) closure had been discontinued well before the supposed date on the creed. The last catalog listing I can find for that style with the Springlock is early 1996. They were still making the style in early 1997 but had switched to a standard Turnlock by then.

And take a look at the position of the Springlock. It's SERIOUSLY off-center.

Here's an early 1997 version with the turnlock:

and here's an earlier one from 1994 - notice that neither one has a center seam on the bottom like the one you can see in the creed photo of the pink one.

Although I'm not familiar with the actual style, I don't see any obvious problems. A picture of the inside of the tag would be helpful.

Here's another listing for what appears to be the same style although this scarf looks much sheerer:

Thanks. Did you notice the fabric content quoted isn't the same on both listings?

No, I didn't notice the fabric content but it doesn't surprise me since one is a sheer scarf and the other is opaque.

I don't see anything that screams fake with either listing and without seeing the tag, I can't authenticate it.

I usually don't purchase before having bags checked that I am not sure about but I couldn't resist. Definitely not a coach expert so I am hoping someone can help me out before I pay :) *hoping I posted this correctly if not I apologize I haven't been on here in awhile

I can't say for sure but I have never seen that style with that Coach emblem on the front. Wait for other opinions.

Hmmm. The bag itself seems okay but that horse and carriage plaque doesn't belong on the style and in fact, is a fake plaque.

Here's a listing for the same bag from the same month and plant:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Coach-Soho-...377?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item2c69a86be9

Please don't pay for it yet until you get other opinions. You might also want to ask the seller about the plaque. Ask whether it is removable. (Often, fake plaques and nameplates are similar to staples where holes are punched and the prongs are stuck through the bag.)

I don't get why someone would attach that fugly piece of metal.

ETA: I think the bag is genuine and if the plaque can be removed without doing damage, it should be okay. But definitely ask the seller about it.

Thank you both... I will message the seller right now and post the reply as soon as I get it :)

That tacky Carriage plaque is fake and only ever seen on counterfeit Coach items. And it's not even centered correctly.

No matter how close the rest of the details are, the plaque is completely wrong and never made or used by Coach.
