Not to butt in, but I'm interested in knowing the authenticity of the last bag as well. I bought a green (supposed) 9085 duffle sac from the same seller and it ended up it is most likely fake (my fault for not authenticating first). So one may be an accident but two could be a pattern.
I don't mean to butt in either but I loved the color and called Coach - the rep explained that the bag came out in 2002 (style 9988) and that would make the year code on this one inaccurate. Additionally, she explained that this bag never came in pink. I am not an authenticator so whatev, please take what the authenticators say and not me - but I am interested to know as well.

I expected as much. Every bubble gum pink vintage bag I have ever seen has turned out to be fake.

Thanks. I didn't think the Coach reps have the years of production on their computers.

Seller has several "sample" bags listed. Do samples normally have a number on the creed?

Almost all the "samples" I've seen have a number of some kind. If it really is a sample, there's NO way to authenticate it because there's nothing to compare it to and no number.

Anyone buying what's advertised as a Sample is completely on their own, there's nothing we can do. And if it turns out to be fake you'll have a very hard time proving it.

Bumble bee keychain - authentic style 5764

4 leaf clover keychain - fake

ETA: Seller llamajuju has another fake:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NIP-COACH-S...747&pid=100012&prg=1014&rk=1&sd=110986938621&

Unfortunately, the 4-leaf clover fob just sold by BIN. Please report anyway and hopefully, they'll pull the listing before the buyer pays for it.

Wait for others on the pink bag.

Thanks so much. I suspected the clover was fake because the Coach in the lozenge looks too big and crude.

NO classic bags were ever made in that shade of Pink, or any other shade. Coach didn't start using bubble-gum pinks or fuschias until after production had moved to China. The closest they came to a classic bag in a shade of pink was in the mid-90's Sonoma line where they had a pale muted pastel shade that I think was only available in Nubuc. The leather is also cheap and thin-looking. The creed is stamped much too low on the pocket.

And I'll say it again - NEVER DEPEND ON INFORMATION GIVEN BY COACH "REPS" OVER THE PHONE. Style number 9988 actually came out in Spring 1997 so the rep gave you the wrong info. It's much more likely that the style was discontinued in 2002 but it was NOT released in that year.

Any bags from seller " ucc.vintageclothing-2009 " need to be carefully authenticated. That's two they've listed that are bogus.

Comments: Please authenticate these bags. I purchased #1 & #2, but I believe they are real based on the other posts in the forum related to this bag. Can you provide the name for #2? Thanks for your time and assistance. I appreciate it. :smile1:

1- see Whateve's earlier post

2- genuine Bridle Bag, don't know the full style name

3- I'd still like to see a creed but it's a genuine Legacy Embossed Suede Shoulder Bag

4- genuine, but ask if the bag originally had a strap, see the photo for the Legacy Embossed Suede Wristlet #40714. I can see something on the left side that could be the ring mounting for the strap. If the owner removed it and especially if she cut the strap ring off that should be disclosed.

...... and my last 4 for awhile. I apologize for being a hog with my requests. I've been busy "gathering" and neglectful with authenticating in a timely fashion.

3- Genuine, and I have its identical twin. The color is Aubergine. (There's still some question on whether the line name was Hamilton or Hampton).

4- Chelsea Bag, not Saddle Pouch. Style 9894, early 1990s.

5- genuine, mid to late 70s

I have no idea whether the bag is authentic either but wanted to comment on the creed. It seems to be stamped uncentered. The horse and carriage seem too far from the stitching above and the space where the serial number would be seems too shallow.

The same seller has other bags she lists as samples, and again, there's no way to determine or prove authenticity.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...5573.m570.l1313&_nkw=coach&_sacat=0&_from=R40

This one has a 99999 style number but the text on the creed seems to have run-on words. (Could be the angle but.....)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COACH-S...723?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1c2e38d4d3

And I don't believe this bag is authentic. It clearly shows a creed with style number 18653, but the bag shown is NOT what 18653 should look like.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COACH-M...834?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1c2e36e912

Personally, I'd avoid this seller.

THIS is 18653:

Regarding seller randiesstuff, here's another "problem" listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-COACH-M...164?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item1c2e388484

The creed of that listing ^^^^^ shows style number as 16538.

That bag is NOT what 16538 should look like. This is what 16538 is supposed to be:
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_odk...p2045573.m570.l1313&_nkw=coach+16538&_sacat=0

randiesstuff's bags remind me of some of the fakes coming out of the Philippines. Stitching and quality of details, creed, fonts, etc. are decent, but serial numbers don't match the bags and the bags are clearly fakes.
