I'm hoping that someone can help with the authenticity (or not) of the following 2 Coach Madison Zip Accordion Wallets.

Thanks in advance!

I own the second wallet, except with silver, and it looks exactly like the pictures.

Hello I would appreciate if someone could help authenticate. The seller said the creed is too worn to send a picture but did provide the number and said it was made in the USA, so I'm not sure if you can authenticate without the creed but if you could at least tell me if the number they provide is indicative of a US plant. Thanks!

Item:9952

Listing : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auth-Vintag...688?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item35c213ea08

Item number:230889351688

Seller : flstflvr

Comments: question to seller "Q: Hi, can you please post or message me a picture of the creed (the stamped text and style number information on the inner flap) so that I can verify if this is the bag I am looking for? Thanks in advance!
A: Thanks for the inquiry! The creed number on the inner flap is worn and its hard to get a good picture. The creed number is L5D-9952.

Also "In the main text on the flap it says"This is a Coach Bag. It was handcrafted in the United States of completely natural glove-tanned cowhide." As far as the color goes it looks just like it does in the pictures. The color may not be called Mahogony. I can't be 100% sure what the color is called."

I understand if you can't authenticate but any information would be appreciated! Thank you!

What I can see looks ok.

I've gotten myself into a bidding war for this one on ebay:

Item number: 290823782758

I really want it to be real, but the serial number format is weird. Could it be due to age? Or have I got myself embroiled in an imbroglio?

Thank you!

It looks like a genuine Beekman Brief style 5266, probably early 1990s. You'll have to figure in the cost of a shoulder strap or find one. A new 1-inch briefcase-style strap (not Coach but good quality) from a seller like silver-coach will run between 40 and 50 dollars plus shipping. That's the correct serial number format for Coaches made between 1988 and 1993. Read the Salearea Coach Guides for more information:

At least it doesn't look as if it's been re-dyed or over-conditioned but it's going to need some TLC and conditioning. The Rescue and Rehab thread at the main Coach forum here can help you with that.

Thank you, Ma'am! I hope to win this old beauty and work her back into shape. I will certainly check out the rehab section on here. I also intend to make my own replacement strap, I work with leather, so it will be fun to try and replicate the original equipment.

Thanks again!

Those of us in the rehab "club" would love to see your results and get some advice from you. :smile1:
