Item: Coach Dark Brown Leather/Monogram Women's Belt
Listing number: N/A bought second hand

Thanks for your assistance. I hope the pictures are clear enough, the belt is older and a bit worn, so it was hard to get a clear pic of the Coach logo on the belt.

Genuine but I don't know the name or age. The style number is 3770 and it matches the photo in Coach's files, probably from the early to mid-2000s.

I've included 3 pics I took of creed to help with authenticating. Please advise. Thanks in advance.

It is not what I would call very vintage, probably early 90's. It appears to be style #4151. I'm not familiar with this style so wait for confirmation, but it looks good to me.

It looks like a genuine Pocket Drawstring from the Lightweight line, style number 4021 and made around 1990. It's very similar to the Thompson that Whateve mentioned but AFAIK the Thompson was introduced in 1995 and would have had a different style serial number.

Hyacinth or Whateve...question.

I am not too familiar with the older versions of Coach, but you mentioned a "lightweight line". I have seen some drawstrings that have the buckles for adjustment on the right and left side of handbag. Are those thicker than the one I posted?

Only reason I ask is because I did want a older Coach because of better quality of leather, but are the mid 90s version of this handbag better in quality?

There's no difference in quality - thickness by itself doesn't mean better quality. The Lightweights used slightly thinner leathers and less-heavy hardware so that the bags added less stress to the shoulder, neck and back muscles and nerves. Older vintage Coaches could be pretty heavy, especially large ones like the Duffle Sac. The use of lighter leathers made it possible to make larger bags and totes that would have been uncomfortable with the standard materials.

Coach changed the name of the line to Soho in the early 1990s but they still made them with lighter leather and hardware.

Oh ok. Thank you for the information. I learn something new every day! Thanks

Comments: authentic? I'm concerned that there's only a couple of pics....

And the problem with the pics is that it's hard to tell if any of them were even taken by the seller. The main pic was taken (illegally, all Coach's graphics are copyrighted) from Coach's website, and the third looks borrowed too and doesn't show a clear photo of the creed and serial number. None of them can be used to prove the bag's authentic.
