Comments: The zipper says ideal, i have 2 side shots that i am not sure of concerning the the c's on the outside?

The coach tag is not metal but plastic?

Is it authentic?

None of the things you mentioned can ever prove a Coach is fake. Patterns DON'T line up along seams. Coach DOES NOT ALWAYS OR ONLY USE YKK ZIPPERS, AND A ZIPPER CAN'T PROVE ANYTHING. And Coach has used metal, leather AND plastic hangtags and they don't prove anything either since they can be removed and changed in a few seconds.

The creed looks fine and the Coach logo tag was added later. I don't see any problems. And whatever "guides' you're reading that are saying that patterns line up at the seams and all zippers must be YKK are full of misinformation and just plain lies. Please ignore them.

Good Morning Ladies! I ran across a bag on eBay last night and the serial number ends with an "E". I'm at work right now and am not able to connect to eBay's site to post the link, but I wrote down the serial number. Can anyone tell me what the "E" means? I have searched this site and the internet to try to find out, but am unable to find anything about an "E" at the end of the serial number. I've seen this bag at the FOS several times, so I do believe it is authentic, I just don't understand the serial number. Thanks in advance for your time and any information you can provide.
Serial Number: D1282-21042E

Thanks Hyacinth. I read that before posting, along with everything else one here that I could find. I still don't see any reference to what the "E" means. I see the "ES" but not just an "E". I've studied nearly every guide on the forum pertaining to Coach and simply can't find the information. Am I missing it somewhere? I can now send the link to the auction that has caused this confusion...

Thanks!

I have only seen the Solid Brass stamp on a pre-creed bag and the font was different than this. By the time this bag was supposedly made, I don't think they were using solid brass anymore.

We talked about this when I posted my fake Rambler's Legacy with a nickel buckle that had a solid brass stamp (lol). Sometime after that I ran across an older bag that I know is authentic-and I can't remember which bag it was-that had a "solid brass" stamp. I'll have to try and find it and post pix and let you authenticate. At the time I meant to check some other bags to compare and have never gotten around to it.

Keep in mind that you're NOT buying from Amazon, you're buying from individual sellers. Don't depend on Amazon's reputation.

In this case it looks like most of what they're selling may be items that have already been reduced at Coach's own outlet stores. Many of the items were made at least 2 years ago. And from what I can see, none of the photos show a clear photo of the creed patch and serial number so it's impossible to say from the photos if the item in the photo is genuine, and chances are that if they have multiples of the same style in stock that you're not seeing a photo of the exact item you're actually buying. BTW, some of their photos seem to be stolen right from Coach's website, and that's against US trademark & copyright laws and specifically prohibited by Coach on their website.

Many of the items are also specifically made for the Factory Stores, so the Regular or Retail price shown in the listings doesn't mean anything, since they never were intended to be sold at that price. The selling prices on this site seem to be a bit above what the standard starting prices at the Factory Outlet stores usually are,

It may be worth buying if you don't have a Coach outlet store close by. Otherwise save your money and buy right from the outlet or sign up for their online Outlet sales.

I have run across a couple of Amazon bags when doing searches and I agree that you can probably get a better price elsewhere, but I just wanted to add that Amazon is REALLY good about refunding if there is any issue at all with a third party purchase. I've had a couple of issues with third party purchases (a negligible amount considering how much I purchase through Amazon), and they definitely operate under the "customer is always right" rule.

So if you happen to find something you can't live without, it's pretty risk free if you end up with a fake.

Thanks!

No one here probably knows either. Coach doesn't ever disclose what the codes stand for. Don't worry about it.

It shows good photos, but the "G" in front of the serial number threw my off. Please tell me if this is authenthic. Thanks so much.

Sorry, I don't understand why a valid month code would throw you off. Every Coach serial number since 1994 has started with a letter of the alphabet. Why do you think that's a problem?

Thanks so much! I thought I'd lost my mind. I knew I had looked everywhere I could think of! Well, if you don't know then I certainly feel better about not knowing...after all you're the expert...I'm just a newbie! Thanks for all of your help! Have a pleasant evening!
