Thank you so much for letting me know, DemRam. I'm not really an ebay person, this is just my 2nd coach purchase, so I'm kinda lost on what to do. I have sent a message to the seller and am waiting to hear back now.. :crybaby: I'm so disappointed cos the seller has 100% positive feedback from 1003 ebayers..

Please DON'T leave any Feedback for the seller yet, even if they try and pressure you to. Wait until you've received a full refund and then leave a strong Negative - don't worry, the seller can't give you a Negative back and even if they could it wouldn't affect you. You need to say something like "Seller sent cheap FAKE Coach AND different style than in photo".

You only have 80 spaces available so use them wisely. THe seller seems to have a good selling record so sending a fake just doesn't make sense. It would be interesting to hear how this happened

Guys, I just heard back from the seller:

This is what I had messaged her:
"I just received the bag today and wanted to inform you that I know that the bag is a fake. The bag you have sent me is NOT the bag in your original listing. The creed is different, there is no hangtag, and the zipper is different, among other things. I had it authenticated and it is a FAKE. I am going to send it back to you and would like to receive my money back, including shipping both ways. Please get back to me as soon as possible"

She claims that this one is authentic too, just a different one, and is going to send me the originally posted one out today. This is her message:
"First of all, you're right that I sent you the wrong bag, but it isn't a fake. It was my fault for getting the wrong one shipped & I apologize. I WILL send the one you won right away. I didn't realize I did that until just now. The bag you received was also listed on Ebay. My mom was here helping me pack items that day & we simply got the wrong one. I am very sorry! I have several Coach bags - ALL are authentic. But I did send you the wrong one. I'll send yours out today. I have never owned - nor will I - a fake Coach. I'm too much of a fan of these bags & have only purchased them from Coach dealers. We have a Coach store here. I have sold many on Ebay & everyone was pleased. If you would like to call me - I'd appreciate it. I don't want you thinking I cheated you - it was an accident. The correct bag will go out today by FedEx. Please know that people do make mistakes - it wasn't intentional. My phone number is 256-xxx-xxxx. I do hope you have time to call me. I feel bad, but it will be fine, I promise. I'll refund your money anyway - and still send the correct bag. Just would like to talk so I know we're OK. This has never happened to me & I like being friends with my Ebay folks! Look forward to a minute to talk! Take Care"

Seems like genuine mistake right? Do you guys suggest that I call her and get things sorted?

PS: She has also entirely refunded my price+shipping...

Let us know what the seller has to say. If they won't cooperate, we can help you with the dispute process. Or you can Private Message me and I'd be glad to help. Save all your pictures in case ebay/Paypal needs proof of what you received.

I can't imagine that the seller won't cooperate, because they are totally wrong in this.

Thank you for your help!

The first looks ok. The second is probably ok but we still need to see a clear photo of the creed patch and serial number.

"
Hi Sneha,
I hope you saw your Ebay message from me by now. I sent it a few minutes ago. I have refunded your money and also am on the way to FedEx to send the correct bag to you. Again, I am sorry you received the wrong one. I shipped about 6 items that day & just didn't pay close enough attention. The bag is authentic that you received, and I hope you have a chance to take it to a Coach store if you have one nearby. You don't have to return it since it was my error, but I thought you might be able to sell it yourself since you have it.
Since you will receive the correct one in a couple of days, and it will be free, I hope you are able to leave positive feedback. I will do so for you & hope you'll forgive my stupidity.
Your FedEx tracking number for this package today will be xxxx. It will go out today so you should be able to track it tomorrow.
Thank you - Have a good evening!"

The bag she sent you IS a fake. If she re-sells it, it will probably be reported to Ebay and she could damage her reputation and be put on selling restrictions ESPECIALLY since she was already told it was counterfeit.

THE BAG SHE SENT TO YOU HAS AN INVALID AND FAKE SERIAL NUMBER. Coach bags will never have serial numbers where the first half is only 2 letters of the alphabet, there must always be a numeric year code in between the letters. Tell her to check the Fake Serial Numbers List and the Salearea Guides posted at Ebay:

DARIA'S GUIDE:

The metal ring on the top zipper pull also appears to be fake.

She may have thought the bag was real but the seller is responsible for authenticating every name brand item before listing. Whoever sold it to her sold her a fake.

Yeah, I trust what you say, no matter how convinced she seems that it is authentic. Since she has refunded my payment, and still sending me the bag in the original listing, I will be more than happy to leave her positive feedback, once I receive the bag as promised.

You ladies are so great! Thanks a lot for helping me in what would have otherwise been a very confusing situation :hugs:

Sounds like she wanted to speak with you on the phone to make sure you wouldn't report her to ebay. I've had two sellers tell me they couldn't upload any more photos, when I asked them to show the creed, because ebay charged for pictures, haha. Also had a seller email me photos of the creed rather than post another picture. What an odd day for ebay auctions....

I know right?! I normally like to believe the best, but you have to be so careful while dealing online! Hope your issue gets resolved soon too!

Ebay changed their policy on photos on July 2nd. Send anyone who claims that they have to pay for photos to Ebay's Seller Information Center - they get twelve photos for free and have no excuse for not taking a clear series of pics showing the important details of the item including the creed.

In fact, this Fall there will be new requirements about the size and content of photos, and stock photos such as photos stolen from Coach's website will no longer be allowed as the Gallery photo.

Lazy and sneaky sellers better start looking for new excuses.
