Hi,

My mother bought this bag many years ago. It's a new (never used) Coach Backpack from the Sonoma Collection. Made in Italy. Still has original tags including price tag. MSRP from tag: $360.00.

When I do a Google search for the style number (4908), I get no results. I'd appreciate any help you can give authenticating this bag.

Stamped Serial No: E4E-4908

Material: Full-grain Cowhide (pebbled leather).

Color: Tan

Interior: Navy Blue striped lining

Compartments: The bag has two compartments - The large main compartment which has a small pocket with brass zipper and pull; and, the smaller outer compartment (on the right side of the bag) with a brass zipper and pull. The outer compartment also has navy blue striped lining.

Closure: Top flap with a cinch closure

Period: Tag indicates 1994

Dimensions (filled with paper stuffing):
14" H
14" W
~11" D

Thanks.

DON'T let that IDIOT on Ebay's Clothing and Accessories Board worry you. This backpack is completely genuine and you have absolutely nothing to worry about. You were told by Fashion Club Girl that's it's ok and a genuine Sonoma Backpack and she's correct. It was made in 1994.

Next time you ask at Ebay, ask ONLY at the Shoes, Purses and Fashion Accessories Board, not at the Clothing Board. The same people usually check both but the Purses Board tends to chase out the idiots a bit faster.

BTW, you may want to take a photo of the other side of the price tag, the model name, style number and color name should be on that side and some potential buyers may want to know the color name. (I think it might be Chamois but Coach colors can be hard to figure out).

And never NEVER use Google to try and figure out if a Coach is authentic. This bag was made 5 years before Google even existed so it's not likely that you're going to find it there.

Aside from its authenticity, can anyone help me with what model this is? Thanks again!

It can't be authenticated with only one picture. Please request pics of back, interior, inside the tag, and if there's a creed, a picture of that.

If we can see the tag info, the style name and number would be on it.

BB, there are more photos in the listing, look for the "Next" link. But there aren't any of the price tag and style codes and no pics of the interior, so we DO need that info.

*Sigh* I hate facebook and only signed up so I can follow (not spy on) my kids and for instances like this.

The reason I didn't see the additional pictures is because I wasn't logged in. Evidently, when unlogged, you just see the first pic.

The bag appears to be a swingpack and looks good but the tag will have the coding we'd need to see.

Is this from the same bag? (I can't find style 6442 in my records.)

Yes, those are from the same bag :)

I can't either but don't save Swingpacks and other small bags. The creed is a bit "crowded" but everything else seems ok.

I would appreciate if someone could authenticate this for me. It has the main pocket and slip front pocket under the flap plus the back zipper pocket and one pocket on the back side. Also any details you could give me about this bag would really help. Thank you so much for your time. :-)

Thanks a lot for the authentication and advice, Hyacinth. I will follow it. :smile1:

fashionclubgurl didn't know, but do you have an opinion on a fair asking price for this bag? It's mint, never used. I searched ebay, but couldn't find a comparable bag for reference. I'd imagine I could ask for close to MSRP, no?
