It looks like it's in really good shape too.

It really is!
I have been rehabbing: bathing, conditioning, and shining up the brass of almost all of the bags I get .. thanks to the help from the rehabbers on tPF. (But this one is super clean looking everywhere! ). It's amazing what comes out of some of these bags, even when they appear to be clean! I really enjoy working with the fine leather of old Coach bags. I so appreciate them! :smile1::smile1:

Ooops and since I see margaritas and bloody mary's being handed around, I must have had some of them ... I just noticed I asked originally to help me to authenticate two bags .. but I had four... either I can't count or some of that margarita got handed to me! LOL

Hyacinth, I need some of those margaritas. I just had an uninformed ebayer tell me that I need to call Coach about my purse because Coach never made bags in Costa Rica. Then another ebayer thinks my Furla is a Fendi... How do you stay calm?

OMG lol. Hyacinth is a kind soul to keep her cool. I remember when I didn't know diddly squat about Coach and in hind sight, all my questions felt ignorant, til you finally figure out how to read the FAQs and authenticity guides which have saved me more than once!!

Or else I was seeing double after all those Bloody Marys and Margaritas. :D

In any case, a fun time sounds like its been had by all (cyber Bloody Marys and Cyber Margaritas - what a concept!) ! .. :) :smile1:

arg...Maybe I was hitting the sauce a bit early today too! I thought I posted this earlier, but can find NO trace, so lets try again.

From my "questionable" bag pile, I am finally producing this bag (Companion Flap?). It seemed great but the strap was all wrong. Now, I am noticing it does look like someone tried to professionally shorten it, (last photo) but I want to be sure of authenticity probability, before I even guess that part.
7.5"Wx8"Hx2.5"D. But, strapdrop about 15.5".... THANKS SO MUCH!

I'm not sure if you authenticate wallets or not, but my mom recently found this wallet at a local thrift store. The only indication that it is Coach is the Coach stamp on the inside lower right corner. There are no tags or any other hallmarks on the bag.

The leather seems to be a good quality and the stitching looks nice. Any idea if this is real?

Thank you!

It looks ok, it's an older style so there isn't much we can go on to come up with a name or a date. My guess would be sometime in the 1990s.

The last pic definitely shows that the strap has been changed. The rest of it seems ok but the quality of the work on the strap ends shows it wasn't changed by Coach. The original strap was 47 inches total length and had a buckle adjustment.

I apologize if this is in the wrong area. I found a bag where the date code is F1J-7717.

It also has a fabric with the siggy c's all over it. Is there anyway this could be authentic?

Thank you!

The number isn't in my files but the details look ok. It's a Demi made of fabric, maybe wool felt or something like that. And Signature C lining was used a lot in bags from about 2000 to 2006, it's not a problem as long as the fabric is a genuine Coach design and the outside doesn't have any Signature or Coach logo fabric.

Be careful with most of the information you find in those "authenticity guides", just having C lining doesn't mean the bag is fake. There are plenty of obviously fake Signature C linings and also plenty of genuine ones.
