!

I'm sorry, but since Listia posted this on their site last week and stated they didn't care whether or not members were selling or trading fakes as long as they said so in the listing, I refuse to authenticate any items being offered on their site. Selling fakes is against US law and Listia's blatant disregard for the law is inexcusable - they can refer their members to tPF until they're blue in the face but I'm not going to lift a finger to cover their laziness, incompetence and disregard for the US legal system AND the moral obligation of a site to offer a safe place to buy and sell:

"Hello everyone,
The authenticity of the item in this auction is no longer be determined by a Listia moderator. It is up to the seller to accurately represent the item and the bidders to research what they’re bidding on. That way, everyone is fully aware of what they’re getting and not getting. Please check out the sources below to help you determine whether you want to participate in this auction or not.

Also, we will no longer make claims of fake or authentic. Sellers should clearly market their items to get the best auction results, and bidders should do their homework first, if they care to. As in most things in life, buyer beware.

Here is a website that may help you in your research, or you may want to contact the manufacturer directly for assistance. This is being provided as a courtesy only and we cannot vouch for the accuracy of the information provided by others.

http://forum.purseblog.com/announcement.php?f=67&a=35

Thanks and good luck to the seller and bidders alike!

I hope other tPF authenticators will do the same, but that's an individual decision.

And just to make it perfectly clear, Listia is a US-registered company and is covered by all US laws and regulations:

Amazon should be ashamed of themselves. Maybe members should start writing to Amazon and to Mr or Ms Gee Chuang and ask why their company feels free to break the law?

If you are a member of Listia, it's probably in your best interest as well as Listia's interest to let them know that they might want to rethink their new policy.

Although their "rules" state that fakes aren't allowed and if authenticity can't be determined, items can't be listed, but the posts they're making on auctions say otherwise.

Listia will be on its way to becoming the new iOffer if they don't reconsider the change they made.

Yep, it sure is. Looks good to me, I don't show it in any catalogs so can't supply any prices, but the color was called Lavender

Ooooooo, lucky lady!!!! I would have done ANYTHING to go but it just didn't happen, thanks to my jerk of a BF - but that's another story! :D
While I was inside waiting with a few thousand screaming pre-teens, the limo pulled up outside just a few FEET from my Mom and my older sister...Mom knew who they were, sis didn't. LOL!

Lavender?!
Yeesssss, sweet, huh?

Thanks, Hyacinth...since my last name IRL is Purple, well, you know, I had to have it!

The second bag is genuine, just be aware that the wallet wasn't made by Coach.

Good for you, Hyacinth!

Comments: Is it usual for there to be those dashes above the numbers on the creed patch?

Thank you for your time, really appreciate it!

The second one looks ok, including the dashes.

I'm worried about the first one, there sre details of that creed stamp that just aren't right, and are not like the other ones from the same time and plant. If you haven't already bid or made an offer, please wait until I can look for more information, I have other things that need to get done but I'll check later.

ETA - Here's a listing for the same style from the same plant, but 2 months later - compare the differences in the creed stamp:

I die! I loved the Beatles, I think am about 3 yrs younger, my folks would have never taken me...
I remember taking the bus with my sister to see "Help" and "A Hard Day's Night" in the movie theater. I think that was the first time we went to the movies by ourselves. I was a Beatles fanatic in grammar school. We used to pretend we were them, and I was Ringo.

And for all these years, I thought I was the only Ringo! LOLOLOL!

After looking more closely at the first seller's listings, I STRONGLY advise that no one buy any Coach items from seller TOOTIESCLOSET on Etsy or anywhere else.

The seller seems to specialize in bags with questionable or just plain WRONG creeds. Aside from the red 4133 "Waverly" you asked about, there are TWO MORE other bags I'm questioning

http://www.etsy.com/listing/102851311/coach-leather-purse-cross-body-bag-large?image_id=350764761
Bag is a ripoff of a Sonoma Sling Bag but it doesn't have the right lining - should be black-on-black stripe - the zipper pull tab is wrong, and the style number doesn't belong to that style or to ANY Sonoma style. In fact it's on my Fakes list A5B-3906 - was previously spotted in a fake Sonoma Double Zip Bag
http://forum.purseblog.com/coach-sh...enticity-questions-94198-37.html#post18503288

The second bag is a frequently faked style and has an invalid serial number:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/94653115/vintage-1990s-coach-bag-green-leather?image_id=318042613
DJC-4156 is a fake number with an invalid year code, the creed stamp is crooked and there's no period in the creed after the word "cowhide"

Do yourself as favor and avoid this seller - three potential fakes from one person starts to look as if they're making a habit of it. And for some reason, the name sounds strangely familiar.

Make that FOUR fakes, she had another one back in May:
