The bag in the listing seems ok.

But as we've reminded members so often, checking out the seller's Negative and Neutral Feedback at TOOLHAUS.org is strongly recommended before bidding. Sometimes there are persistant issues that aren't obvious just by looking at a seller's feedback percentage. For instance - these are just the first 1,000 reports, BTW:

Orange Ergo Mini Hobo?
approximate size: 9.5" at widest, 12.5" from base to top of handle, 2.25" deep

Please help authenticate! At first touch, the feel of the leather made me go "this has got to be real".. but that doesn't mean a lot :p I saw that post of katev's about a navy one, but can no longer access the photos. That made me look at the magnetic snap, though, and I took a picture of the markings. Not sure what else to take pictures of - there aren't a whole lot of features!
The bag is pretty dirty, obviously well-used, but the leather is still pretty darn good. At $4.25, it wasn't cheap for a risky buy, but I went with it anyway because of the color.

It looks genuine. Coach used 2 different styles or brands of magnetic snaps during that time and this is one of theirs. As you said, there aren't many other things we can analyze besides the snap and the creed, but both look ok.

Comments: I noted the patina on the handle, and something looks weird in the lower right corner, but may be lighting. Clear creed photo requested and attached. Does the creed look ok to you? Something about the font and/or spacing looks odd to me, but I'm not an expert at all. I also noted the * after the word vintage, but no footnote addressing it.

The bag pictured is authentic...but NOT vintage. It's a "Bonnie's Legacy Bucket" and it was made in 2000.

I think that Coach tried to pay tribute to Bonnie Cashin with that bag and a few others.

Make sure that the bag pictured is the bag you are buying
