Feel free to post photos of anything you're not sure of - front, back, something showing the strap buckle or fastenings and the top zipper, and especially the inside and the creed patch and serial number. Approximate measurements are always a help too. If we need more pics of an area, we'll ask, but the creed stamp and number are the most important details, and we need to be able to read the creed to check for spelling and formatting mistakes.

Hyacinth,
Here is the tag. It is the best pic i could get with my phone. Idk if once this posts how it will look, but can you see how the words look grouped weird? is that the formatting you were speaking of?

Yes, now that I actually read it, the formatting does look funny and it says, "suferior craftsmanship." So next time could be as easy as actually reading! LOL...I will try to get a clear pic because I would like to know if the format is normal. I don't think it is but just want to know for sure for next time...

Any time you see spelling or punctuation mistakes, or words all pushed together, or words divided with a hyphen between 2 lines of text ON OLDER BAGS, that can be a major red flag. Coach's creeds are done in by-the-book grammatically correct AmerEnglish and won't have spelling mistakes. Classic and vintage bag creeds will often have wide spacing between words but that's to keep the spacing balanced and to avoid hyphenated words.

Post photos though, sometimes letters or numbers can look "off" depending on the lighting or on how much wear they're had.

We ALWAYS want buyers to read creeds. Sometimes bags will say they're made of glove-tanned cowhide when it's actually mainly fabric and that's another red flag. The creed should disclose the primary fabric of the bag, if it's fabric or a combination of fabric and leather, then it's not made of cowhide. Some newer bags from the last few years seem to break that rule though, but older bags never do.

Not exactly but it's an example of both misspellings and mislabeling regarding the primary material. It's NOT made of cowhide leather, it's made of fabric trimmed with leather.

Really bad formatting looks more obvious, but this bag already has enough mistakes without it.

Thanks! This stuff will eventually sink in! Mom emailed the woman, (she posted her yard sale on craigslist) so we will see what happens. Probably within the week I will post photo's if I feel I have suspicious bags! Thanks!

Do you have recommendations for formats to report fakes?

I'm not sure what you mean by formats - click on the Report This link and look for links regarding copyright and trademark violations in the drop-down boxes. I use a different reporting system so maybe someone who uses the regular links can explain what to select if you're not sure.

For "reasons" - fake serial number, fake hardware, misspelled words & wrong wording in creed

Hyacinth sweetie, you are working OT on this thread since Bb and the EDropoff drama. I just want to tell you we love and appreciate your time. Hopefully things will get resolved in her favor and BB will be back where she belongs.

That's what I meant-just curious. That's pretty much what I've done.
