Hope someone can help Blessed, my post might get pushed way back that it won't be seen. If anyone can check out the Purple Sachtel on page 752 from me I would appreciate it, liked to know if it is authentic or not. TY

Yes Hya, that's exactly what I did, my bad! Searched online and started to believe everything I read, including the YKK on the zipper. I am learning fast it is all nonsense!!! And NO I would never report anyone on eBay based on a zipper, unless I was absolutely sure it was fake! That is exactly why I am here to make sure!

Hello all! I picked this up today at a rummage sale for 25 cents. I believe it is authentic (it has the yummest leather), but my knowledge of leather bags is limited. Any information you can give me about it would be wonderful.

It's called a Hudson Bag, style number 4113 from Coach's Lightweght Collection, and was probably made around 1991-92. Coach's original catalog page from November 1991 is below. Nice find!

There's nothing wrong with it.

BTW, please don't use page numbers whan referring to posts, use the actual Post Number at the upper right corner of the post. Or click on that link and the URL for that post will appear in the address box at the top of your browser and you can Copy & Paste that URL into your reply. Most of us use the standard or default forum setting but not everyone, so post numbers are much easier for everyone to find. The forum allows us to use a variety of settings including numbers of posts per page, and various mobile apps can also display pages differently.

Yep, most so-called "guides ARE nonsense, unfortunately, but there's no way to make them go away. If everything posted in all those guides were true, almost every single bag that's ever been sold at a Coach store would be "proved" fake by some guide or other.

Hi...I was wondering if someone could take a look at this Coach tote--I have had it for a few years ( purchased on ebay) but never had it authenticated. Also, would this be called a Coach Soho Waverly? Thanks in advance!

Item name: Coach tote
photos: http://s1213.photobucket.com/albums/cc473/CASS012/coach tote/

It's genuine, and it's a Soho Buckle Bag. There are quite a few different totes in the Soho and Lightweight lines and it's easy to get them mixed up. :smile1:

ETA - Sory, I didn't see DemRam's answer before I posted!

Thanks anyhow Hyacinth but the auction has been removed as "no longer available." Guess it was good I didn't bid huh? :-)

It's hard to say, the seller may have even removed it for some reason. I don't like to think that someone reported it just because it couldn't be positively authenticated, there's a big difference between "I don't know" and "fake". There are hundreds of different styles that even the experienced posters here have never seen before.

And except for the screamingly obvious fakes that we've seen and reported a hundred times but still see in our nightmares, nothing should ever be reported without one of the experts verifying that it's fake.

I'm sorry, but it's fake. That serial number has been used in thousands of fakes but it ONLY belongs in an all-leather East-West Duffle like the one shown below. This one is a hodge-podge of several different styles (all of them often faked) and was never made by Coach. I hope the sale is still running so she can take it back and get a refund. Selling fakes of any kind is illegal, even at thrifts and yard sales. And fakes should never be returned into circulation, either by selling or donating.

BTW, anyone who does a lot of shopping at thrifts, consignment and resale shops, estate sales, yard sales, etc should probably print out all three parts of the Fakes List and carry it with them as a reference. It won't list all the fake numbers but it does include the most obvious ones - it's VERY long but could save buyers money in the long run:

Thank you so much Hyacinth! I did a search on google and that is what came up so I had a suspicion! I will tell her and hope that lady from the yard sale takes it back and does not give her a problem! I'm going to have to go through my coach bags that I have bought second hand because I am learning that alot of things I have been told about spotting a fake are not necessarily true! You may be hearing more from me ;-)

Thanks again! We appreciate it!

Feel free to post photos of anything you're not sure of - front, back, something showing the strap buckle or fastenings and the top zipper, and especially the inside and the creed patch and serial number. Approximate measurements are always a help too. If we need more pics of an area, we'll ask, but the creed stamp and number are the most important details, and we need to be able to read the creed to check for spelling and formatting mistakes.

Yes, now that I actually read it, the formatting does look funny and it says, "suferior craftsmanship." So next time could be as easy as actually reading! LOL...I will try to get a clear pic because I would like to know if the format is normal. I don't think it is but just want to know for sure for next time...

Interested in purchasing this Coach purse & Wristlet....how does it look?
