Item: Navy (or black?) Court Bag 9870, made in Costa Rica in 2001
Seller: St. Vincent De Paul Thrift Shop $3
Comments: Please authenticate. I probably should have left this behind because the previous owner altered the strap, and did a very amateurish job of it! But it was only $3 so I caved in and bought it! Thanks in advance for your expertise!

OK, as usual I'm doing this backwards, not only is the bag bought & paid for, but it's in my posssesion. I have convinced myself it's authentic, so if it's not, break it to me gently because I'm in love. :p

Obviously, it's not a Willis. ;) I compared it to the other Monticellos I can find pictured, and I have one question: If you look at the strap ends, it's not the traditional dog leash style. Is it possible that more than one type was used? This one has the dog leash, but is identical in every other way that I can see:

Every other picture I have found of a Monticello either does not show the strap, or the strap is missing. The leather of the strap matches the leather of the bag so I doubt it is a replacement.

The Monticello used a smaller dog-leash clip than other Coaches. And their original catalog page showed a completely different clip that didn't look like either one.

I don't see anything wrong with yours.

Item: Patricia's Legacy?

Comments: Is it even worth asking the seller for a clearer picture of the creed? I have a Patricia's Legacy, but the seam at the bottom of mine is centered. With this one, there are two seams to the left and right.. Mine is from 2001, while this is (from what I can decipher of the creed pic) 1994.. If the bottom seam is not an issue, I will ask the seller for a better creed pic.. Thanks, ladies!

Good, thanks-after I posted this I pulled out my Madison Drake, I know this means nothing, but it had a similar clip, same type, slightly different style.

I <3 this bag big time!

Could you please authenticate this Coach? I purchased it today, thanks in advance.
It was hard to get a pic of the serial number, but it is #158-1621.

This one really looks fake. The serial number font is wrong, the top zipper pull is wrong, the zipper itself is torn loose, the zipper is discolored with some kind of dye or shoe polish - see how shiny and unnatural the color all over the bag itself looks? - this bag would still be a mess even if it was genuine and I DON'T think it is.

H4B- is a legitimate serial prefix but it also has been used in thousands of fakes, that's mentioned in my Fakes List. I do NOT recommend buying this bag.

I was wondering about that one too. The "hand painting" along the bottom edge is confusing me, is that style or that color supposed to have as the seller calls it "hand painted raw edges"? I've never seen or heard of that on other Kristins, and if the owner herself painted the edge - why ???? If you use the Zoom feature it does look like there's some silvery color along the edge of the base, but why would there be "raw edges" or silver paint there?

I'd want a lot more photos and an explanation of why it's hand painted and just who did the painting before I'd even consider bidding. And why does a Kristin have raw edges, the other 2 listed for sale, both black, don't mention anything about raw edges.
