I found this today and I didn't realize (if authentic) that there are different sized "canteen"/Chester? looking bags by Coach since I own a smaller one than this, that looks similar except for being smaller.
This one is made in USA and is about 8 3/4" at widest, 7 1/2" high in middle and about 3.5 " deep. Strap drop is crossbody at about 21-23". I have no idea why my Image host keeps putting the creed sideways..sorry about that!!

I also found this belt- which I wasn't sure where to post it since that's a bit "off topic" from purses. It says it's made in NYC and seems to be in wonderful condition. If there are additional photos needed for this type of authentification let me know. THANKS so MUCH!!

It's easy to confuse the two. This one is the larger Chester Bag, style 9901. The Canteen Bag 9982 is smaller and since it came out around 1995, it should always have the new-style serial number that includes the style number.

The wallet doesn't look familiar but that doesn't mean anything, there are plenty of wallets I've never seen.

haha...ok thanks. I remember a gal in the reference thread saying she could put all this stuff in her "chester" bag and I'm looking at my other smaller bag which looked identical and I was thinking "there's no way you fit all that in this bag!! ...now it makes sense.
