Hi, could this bag be authentic even though I see no evidence of a creed? I found it and thought it was a Coach bag because of the hardware, the leather quality, and the style. The leather is pebbled. I can give dimensions, but wanted to just see if it was worth posting more, or if the absence of a creed meant it was no way an authentic Coach. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Authentic, 9860 from 2005. I believe the name is a perforated demi.

It's definitely authentic and appears to be style 8950. (There have been several similar styles so I'm not sure of this one. Maybe someone else might know better.)

Thank You Beenburned!! I did find a listing on the wayback site in like august of 2005 and there were two styles (the one you have and another) listed - one was called "glove tanned mini duffle" I could not locate a style number and then the info I got with the picture you have posted here called it a "leather mini Duffle style # 8956" the page said that this style came in red/silver and black/silver(with the british tan color showing) -- So I was going to use style# 8956 information in my listing -- Do you feel like this is accurate? Thank You also on the demi bag -- I can't find any information on the demi with the holes along the bottom but perforated sounds right - is that still in the hampton collection? I appreciate your time and knowledge!!

I found pictures of 8950 and 8956. The reason I thought yours was 8950 is because yours doesn't have a serial number, indicating a smaller item. The 8956 was a larger bag and would probably have had a serial number.

Please wait for Hy because she might have catalogs from that era.

HI all,

I have got the bag in my possession already and have taken more pics of it. Unfortunately I cannot get a good picture of the creed. But the serial number in the creed is N-G1093-15935 and the creed is brown in colour sewn onto the purple lining in the bag. Here are more pics of it. As mentioned, the bag is mahagony in colour.

The lining color is correct for the mahogany bag.

From the other pictures, the bag appeared to be either black or blue, in which case the lining was the wrong color.

I think at this point, the bag is okay but please wait for other opinions for confirmation.

Thank You BB -- will wait for Hyacinth's input -- the measurements are:
7.5" across top
6" across bottom
5" top to bottom
2.5" deep at bottom
those measurements are taken while bag is stuffed with bubblewrap.

Yes, it looks good to me too, for the mahogany. :smile1:

The styles look almost alike, pics of both are included below. I only have measurements on 8950, Glove-tanned Mini Duffle - 6x5x2 inches which matches yours.

Here are 8950 and 8956:

The only way a Coach wouldn't have had a creed is if it was made in the early to mid-1970s before creeds were added to bags, but AFAIK Coach wasn't making pebbled leather bags during that time. The soft top handle makes it look like a copy of a Court Bag and Court Bags were never pebbled and also were introduced in the late 80s or early 90s, long after creed stamps became standard. I'd say it's just an interesting - and legal - designer-inspired bag.

My boyfriend came home today with 3 more Vintage bags from the Goodwill! He is the best! :) I hope that you all can authenticate them for me and tell me info about them! TIA!

This one is 7.5"H, 4.25"D, and 8.5"W!

This one is in pretty rough shape but hopefully I can rehab it and make it look good again! 8"H, 3.5"D, and 9.5"W!
