i'm not a very coach fan, but i have this keychain from a friend in aussie as a christmas gift(yes very late).

Would like to check if its real because there are some off-things that i observe.
1) the box seems substandard.
2) the paper with the coach printing is flimsy.

Not sure if mods does auth for keychains!

Thanks ((:

It's fake.

Any time you see a white and brown rectangular 2-piece box like that (could also be brown with white edging) it's almost 100 percent certain that the keychain is fake. Coach NEVER made boxes like that but most cheap fakes include those same boxes.

The style of the keychain is fake, all the Coach logos have the wrong font, and as you said, the tissue paper is thin and cheap-looking. There are other red flags too but those are the most obvious ones.

Hi okay, thanks (:

I'm sorry. I agree with Hyacinth.

Thank you @BeenBurned and @Hyacinth. I'm really new here. I appreciate the heads-up, corrections and patience with me. I took a clear close-up photo of the creed. I will also update my blog post. Thanks!!!!! :smile1:

Bags of this vintage aren't my specialty so I recommend you wait for Hyacinth and/or DemRam. You will need to post more pictures in order for them to authenticate it. Show the creed and the ends of the dowel. They'll let you know if there are more pics necessary.

Note that since you say that the prefix is A9C, that indicates that if authentic, the bag is from 1999, so as 12-13 years old, it's not vintage, which is considered to be 20+ years old.

As for your blog, I don't recommend the guide to which you referred for your information. The "author" of that guide plagiarized another expert's guide and her information is a direct copy and paste.

This is the original guide:

Hello Authenticators-
I came across two fobs/keychains I've never seen before and was wondering if they are authentic? TIA!

Legacy Ballet Slipper-

and
Legacy purse-

I'm not familiar with the ballet slipper so wait for Hyacinth (or someone else who might know) on that one.

As for the legacy purse charm, that charm isn't something that's sold like that.

The purse charm was taken from a disassembled fob (style 92946, fashion mix fob) and was attached to a charm clip. (Whether the clip is authentic or not is anyone's guess since I can't imagine someone taking an authentic clip from a different charm to use to make their own.)

This is a listing for the actual Coach-made item that the charm came from (NMA):

Thus, the second seller, wishingtobe29 is either misleading buyers or doesn't know her Coach.

Thanks Been Burned- I didn't even stop to think that the purse charm could be what I call a 'chop shop' charm (that's a pet peeve of mine when people do that!) I will wait to see if anyone else responds back on the legacy slipper charm.

You're welcome.

I should have added that wishingtobe29 should NOT be describing her item as a "Coach key fob" because it's not a Coach key fob. It's a fob made (maybe) with a Coach charm.

I've seen another photo of the Ballet Flat but I have NO idea if that was actually made by Coach - it's never been on any of their websites when I've checked. Someone asked about what I think was the same keychain almost 2 years ago and we hadn't seen it before either.

No one AFAIK has ever posted a reveal or a photo of it with a style number or tag so it's still a question mark.
