I think it looks authentic, but I am no expert.
What do you think based on the additional pics?

Thanks!
Hanna
Yes, it's authentic.

Hello. I am new to this, and would like help authenticating a purse I bought in an "antique" store. It doesn't have a tag/lozenge. It's just the bag, which is 6.5 x 8 x 3 inches. It is unlined, and the color is closer to the picture in the middle. If it is real, does anyone have an information on how old it may be? It's in great shape. Thanks for your time and the information.

That's the second fake of that style I've seen just this week. If it's supposed to have a shoulder strap (since the seller mentions in the listing that no strap is included), the fake is a ripoff of a Legacy Satchel style 9063 but the creed and serial number show a style number for an Ergo Hobo. The font used in the serial number is also wrong and the plant code is one often used in fakes.

If you haven't already paid for the bag, DON'T. Contact the seller and explain the bag has been verified as fake and that you want to mutually cancel the transaction, since if the seller ships it she's breaking both US and Canadian laws as well as Ebay rules by selling counterfeit merchandise.

Thank you SO much!

Can you please take a look at this vintage bag.

Item Description: COACH BONNIE CASHIN BLACK CRESCENT HOBO PURSE BAG
Item Number: 280723501728
Seller: kimhisc
Link: http://cgi.ebay.com/MINT-COACH-BONN...728?pt=US_CSA_WH_Handbags&hash=item415c6cb2a0

Thank you.

It's authentic. The actual "style number" for the Crescent bag is 9235 (shown in the brochure photo) NOT 9988 as described in the auction. Style 9988 is the "Saddle" bag.

I have no clue if it's actually a Bonnie Cashin design because I don't know when the bag was introduced. Date of manufacture for that bag is anywhere from the late 70's through the late 80's.

Thank you. I appreciate your help.

The 1st one is authentic. I have a very similar bag that was authenticated by the Cashin Foundation. The name given to my bag by the BCF is "Double Entry Small". Mine has chain straps and is about 3 inches narrower, but other than that, the basics of the bag are almost identical.

The 2nd on is also authentic. Sorry, but I don't have the actual "name". When you see the black & white "Bonnie Cashin" metal plaque and the striped lining, you can be fairly certain it's an actual Bonnie Cashin design.

Thanks again for your help. I hope these are in good condition. I will try to not ask about any other bags today. :p Have a great weekend!!!

Sorry to have to tell you this, but I think it may be fake. I'm posting a catalog pic from Coach's 1992 catalog below showing style 9897 Chauncey Bag which matches the measurements of your bag, 1992 is when the bag was FIRST sold. There are a few very small details that are wrong, like the size of the round brass strap "buttons", and the shape of the ends of the straps right above the buttons. But what really bothers me is that the serial number is in a 3-number plus 4-number format, and Coach stopped using that format by 1990.

I don't own any bags from that particular "family" - Coach called them Carriage Classics - maybe someone who has other bags from that collection can tell me if Coach would have used the older "industrial-style" zipper with the dark blue fabric on the zippers.

It's remotely possible that yours may be a pre-production bag made before 1990, but I'd have to say its authenticity is questionable. There are just too many things that don't "feel" right, even something about the creed stamp just feels a tiny bit off although the serial number shows the marks of either authenticity or a very carefully-made counterfeit. Even the off-white topstitching seems exaggerated, that was the first thing that set off warning bells. Coach usually didn't emphasize the stitching so much and other bags in that line don't show the same stitching.

I have owned lots of Coach purses and this appears to be authentic, but can you just take a look at the photos to make sure? The confusing part to me is the bottom of the purse by the seams.

Thanks so much, I really appreciate it~!

Generally, the classic Coaches aren't my specialty but this one is an easy call.

It's fake. "W" is not a valid month code and the style number is that of a Willis, something this bag isn't.
