You still have a valid claim if he listed it with a disclaimer of authenticity. If we report it the listing disappears. If you bought all those just to get the Coach, contact the seller and tell him he violated Ebay policy by listing and selling it. Make an html copy of the entire listing and Save a couple of screenshots of that part of the listing - BEFORE you contact the seller!

Here's the Ebay Rules page:

(Gives VB a sharp rap across the knuckles for not reading the listing carefully)

Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Thanks Hyacinth.

The watch is fake. The markings on the face and the back of the case have the wrong font and the "lozenge" isn't the correct shape.

Thanks BeenBurned.

I've added comparison pictures for you to show the seller in the event he gives you a hard time:

Awesome. Thank you.

I have contacted him and hopefully he will not be a problem.

Thank you so much!!!!

Just a few follow-up questions, if you don't mind:

When was the Broadway satchel made and what collection was it a part of?

For # 5 -- I just want to make sure that I understand. The satchel is old enough that the last four digits of the code after the creed is not the style number? Also, could you tell me what the name of this Madison satchel is?

If you know, when did the City Willis start being made?

Thanks!

The Broadway Satchel apparently was introduced in 1991, I don't know when it was discontinued.. Coach didn't have a lot of fancy-schmancy collections or names back then, it was just a Madison Satchel. BTW, what are now "collection" names like Madison usually have almost no connection to previous styles or collections with the same name, Coach re-uses names constantly. Yes, it's old enough - it has NO letters of the alphabet in the serial number - for the last 4 digits to be just random numbers.

The City Willis came out some time around 1999.

I contacted him and not 5 minutes later I get a removal notice from eBay. Have not heard from him.

I did get copies saved per your advise. Thank you. I would not have thought to do that.

Waiting to hear from him.

I know Coach wallets are harder to authenticate, but here's one on ebay I wanted to run by you ladies. It looks ok, to me, but I wanted to run it by you ladies. Also, ebay has this new thing where you can click on the picture and actively zoom over the photos!!! I really like this!!!

Hello Authenticators,
I'm hoping you can't help me authenticate (or not) ANOTHER Hamptons Alligator tote I bought last week....If you'll recall I bought one earlier this month from e-bay (which you authenticated), and I really loved the style (and the alligator) so much I took the plunge on another one I saw soon after....I'm afraid though that I may not have bought an authentic bag this time, as there is NO creed patch inside.
Here was the original listing:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/160755909820?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649

and here are some addtl. pics. I just snapped, and a couple compared to my greyish/taupish/greenish one I bought a few weeks back. In comparing them, I noticed (bsides the missing creed patch) that the opening on the white bag seems wider than on my grey one (when looking at them from a side angle). Any ideas whether this could still be real even with no creed patch??? ...Oh, forgot to add that the suede interior lining feels exactly the same.

one more pic....in next post.

Item Name : soho belted pouch
My concern is that on the wayback machine for 1997, Coach.com doesn't show a color even close to this. It is less purple than my Periwinkle small framed pouch from the same year. If they did make this color, what was it called? thanks

First of all, WHICH Wayback for 1997? Which month? Are you looking at SUMMER colors? And are you sure the Wayback is showing you the correct months? Please DON'T depend on the Wayback, that's as dangerous as depending on Google.

Don't ever expect colors posted online to be accurate, they never are. Look at 50 Gallery photos of leather Coaches on a Search page. Guess what color the bags are based just on the photos and then check the listings to see what colors they REALLY are.

Take my advice and don't worry too much about colors - not all of them are going to be able to be verified, especially since, as I mentioned in one of my Ebay Guides, Coach didn't even have that information available on the internet until 2000 so the Wayback's information will always be incomplete and a lot of Wayback pages have major flaws - for one, just like Coach's current webpages, they ONLY show the colors that are currently in stock or in the case of the Wayback, the colors that were in stock on the day the page was scanned. They're NOT an accurate representation of everything available that year. And as I think I've mentioned before, Coach has also made special colors for Resort items and for some retailers which WON'T be shown on the Wayback or in the catalogs.

Even if I can't find a color that looks exactly like that in a catalog, I'm looking at a bag with accurate details, a correct creed stamp, a valid Outlet stamp, and a valid Final Sale stamp. I'm NOT going to worry if I can't verify the color. If something besides the color is wrong, that's a red flag.

Item: Black Coach Pocket Bag (mid 1970s to mid-1980s)
Seller: Savers $7
Dimensions: 9.5" wide, 6" high, and 2" deep
Comments: I almost didn't buy this bag because it is really filthy, beat-up, missing the hangtag, and it has verdigris! But it was only $7 and I figured that if the rehab was a failure then I can at least recycle the strap! Besides that I just hate to leave an old NYC bag on the shelf to rot!

Please authenticate and if it is genuine, do you know the style number for this bag? Thanks for your help!

If there's no creed patch and it's the same size as the other one, it's fake. Period.

Just FYI, Coach doesn't write style numbers on the outside of their boxes - they don't write ANYTHING on the outside -, and that's not a standard Coach box either. And didn't the wording "Women Coach Alligator Tote Handbag" sound a bit odd? That's how thousands of listings for Chinese fakes often start.

In addition, the inside zippers are different, even the zipper pull on the fake looks like cheap Mystery Metal. There's NO photo of the inside and no mention of the serial number, and with a bag that's supposed to be a Limited Edition they should at least have posted photos of the creed patch.

If it doesn't say Coach anywhere on or in the bag, it's a knockoff that they're passing off as a Coach. And technically if there's no Coach name or logo on the bag, it's not even counterfeit, it's just a scamming seller trying to rip someone off.

Contact them and demand a full refund including your shipping charges, and start a SNAD claim with Ebay at the same time. Mention to Ebay that you own the verified GENUINE version of the bag and you can send comparison photos showing where the differences are. Don't mention "counterfeit", just say the bag was sold to you as a genuine Coach but it's not.

And please, next time ask here first, and don't ever bid on anything without a clear creed photo.

It's a Pocket Purse style 9755 from 1986 or 87 and it's genuine.
