The last four digits of a scooter bag are 9893 which is the style number. There might be similar bags with different style numbers or bags made prior to 1994 that have serial numbers rather than style numbers.

Be aware that just because a bag has the correct/valid serial/style number for the style doesn't mean that it's authentic.

As an example, this listing is a FAKE bag with a style number that is correct for the style it's trying to copy:

Serial numbers don't ever prove that a Coach item is authentic, and fakes can have valid serial numbers. Please post listing numbers, URLs and/or photos of any bags you need authenticated.

Comments: I am the buyer but was not able to ask for authentication before the auction ended. I haven't paid yet. The picture of the creed and serial number is upside down. If it's hard to decipher, it's F7D 9966. I had to use my husband's monitor because mine is horrible. I forgot to check whether the creed said made in the U.S. I would appreciate it if when you look, you could check that for me.
