Comments: This bag was "authenticated" on the ebay purse board, but I have my doubts.

The person asking for authentication has some valid points: The strap attachment doesn't look right. The stitching on the back loops doesn't look right. I'm not sure about the creed?

I'm just not familiar enough with that style to comment.

Comments:
I'm worried this bag is not authentic because I've just found this forum and now realize how many "authentic" bags are not authentic.

Thoughts? I guess I should have asked for more pictures of the item, but I didn't...oops.

Thanks!
Hanna

The bag in the pictures looks okay but I'd like to see a picture of the creed.

Just wanted to confirm that it is authentic and/or see if anyone has had any known negative experience(s) with this seller.

Comments: Why does the seller put the F before the style number? Thanks for your help.
The bag looks good.

The F before the style number indicates that it's an outlet bag. I can't see if the creed has an F on it. If the creed has F with the style, it's a MFF (made for factory) bag. If the creed doesn't have the F, it's a boutique bag that was sent to the outlet and got an outlet tag made for it.

The most recent one I can find in a catalog is in the "Source Book" from Spring 1997. I also own one from 1994. Here's what I'm seeing - I'll refer to the one in the listing as "the fake":

The Snap Lock on the fake is too far from the edge of the flap, the brass base should be within 1/4 inch of the piping

The stitches all around the bag are too long and the edging on the pocket right underneath the flap is badly done and has way too much extra leather under the stitching

The stitching on the leather strips holding the D-rings on the back is completely wrong - in fact the ends arewn't even finished off. And there's no stitching at all along the edges on the fake.

There shouldn't be a center seam on the bottom

I can't find the strap for mine so can't make any comparisons there with mine but from the catlog photos (1993 and 1997) the strap is completely wrong, not only are the rivets WAY too big but the strap shouldn't have rivets at all.

The ONLY thing the fakers got right was the Snap Lock.

Comments: On both of these bags, the seller says that it comes with a card certifying that it is from the Python Coach collection sold in Coach stores, not Coach factory.
I asked for the copy of the card that says this, and she sent a copy of the card and the price tag which has the number F17417. I can't read the card but this number is definitely a factory number. This seller dlw62554 has the same purses listed:
http://clothing.shop.ebay.com/Women...=1&_fln=1&_ssn=dlw62554&_trksid=p3911.c0.m282
If these purses are authentic, why is the seller lying about the fact that they are factory purses? Thanks

Thanks Hyacinth. The OP had a good eye and got bad information from not 1 but 2 so called "experts".

I think I'll email her and let her know she was NOT wrong.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend a seller (redice5528) who isn't honest about her item(s).

First off, there's no way to authenticate a bag with just one blurry picture! And tags and cards don't prove authenticity.

Secondly, she's lying about the bag not being a MFF item and where she purchased it. It's MFF as the attached picture below shows. The F in front of the style number indicates that it's a made for factory bag.
