Just giving this a bump in case it got missed...no worries if those who know the newer bags just haven't seen it yet, I just wanted to make sure it didn't get overlooked. If more pics would help, please let me know and I'll try to get some decent ones. :smile1:

I was drooling over that bag at my outlet last year but I didn't buy it. I can't believe that you got it for $15! I'm not an expert but it looks good to me!

Thanks for chiming in Katev! I don't go to the FP or outlet stores much, so I'm not very familiar with how the newer bags look and feel IRL. The stitching seemed very good, and the lining is beautiful. That, combined with the smell (is that weird? I've noticed that some of my coach bags have a particular, very distinct smell) made me feel confident enough to get it. I am most fond of the older bags, but I must say that this little bag is very lightweight and will be great when I don't want to carry a heavy bag!

That's one of the button-front groovys. They were the first groovys to come out (in mid to late 2009? I'm guessing at the release date because I got mine at the outlet in early 2010.) The newer groovys usually have a metallic Poppy patch on the front, but I like the look of the button groovys best. I have a black/black sig groovy and she is one of my favorites; here's some more info about groovys:

Wow, it seems that just about everyone loves their Groovy's!!! Now I'm really glad I didn't leave it :smile1: I did a quick eBay search just after buying it (for validation!) and did see that there were two different styles, I do like the button Groovy better than the ones with the zip front pocket, something about the buttons are just so darn cute, they add a little pizzaz

Here's a question for the vintage experts: I have a navy blue convertible clutch that was Made in New York City (my first made in NYC!), and also has an outlet bullet stamp next to the creed. Knowing that, can you narrow down the years it may have been made? Thanks!

Made in NYC bags would be from the mid-1970s to about 1987. The outlet stamp isn't much help since I doubt if there's any available info about when the first outlets were open.

It's a fake. The creed statement is all wrong. Jane verified.

From a week ago, I posted about a Coach here, I had won it on ebay, several posters said it was fake. Thanks for having this forum, authenticate this thread and to all who replied to my questions. Very helpful!

An update: I emailed the seller to cancel the transaction because it wasn't authentic. Seller agreed to cancel and was apologetic.

Now I see it's been relisted. She put brand unknown under item specifics, and "Coach" in the title. Is that allowed on ebay? Sheesh, I thought they weren't allowed to sell fakes but many auctions keep running.

Ugh! Do not buy from emymouse and please report that fake! The seller is a scammer who now KNOWINGLY sells fakes.

This item in her feedback is another fake:

This would be a good opportunity to leave negative feedback to warn buyers. You can post something to the effect of "sold fake Coach bag and relisted it. Buyer beware."
